There are a lot of question marks heading into tonight’s NBA DFS Showdown slate between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers. Will all of the Warriors play on the second night of a back-to-back? The Clippers now have at least four new players available to plug into their rotation. How will playing time divvy up with the roster? Let's try to answer those questions and more before the Warriors and Clippers tip off tonight. Here are the NBA DFS picks and top plays we can invest in for our lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings!

NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

MVP/CAPTAIN

Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers SF/PF

After a one-game absence, Kawhi Leonard is back on the court with no limitations for tonight’s game. It was a bit concerning his last two games played to see his minutes drop to 33 per night (with 38 fantasy points per game) when he was playing 40 minutes per night with 53.25 fantasy points per game in the four games before. But that should correct soon and this is a good matchup to ramp him back up with the Warriors allowing the 11th-most fantasy points to small forwards in their last 30 games.

Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers SG/SF

George has not shot well in three of his last five games (40% or under), but still has more than 33 fantasy points in each of those games. The Warriors are still first in pace overall this season and are languishing in the bottom half of the league in defensive rating, so if George can continue to put up 20+ shots as he has in the last three games, there is no reason to think he can’t get to 35+ with a slight discount from Kawhi Leonard.

Jordan Poole, Golden State Warriors PG/SG

Do we think Poole is the player who only scored 25 fantasy points last night on 36% shooting or the guy who averaged 51 fantasy points in 36 minutes per game in the two previous games? It looks like Poole just could not get the fouls and turnovers under control last night (four of each), and he only shot the ball 11 times. I expect he will be much closer to the 25 shots he took in each of the last two games as the Warriors will need all the offensive help they can get as 7.5-point underdogs.

UTILITY

Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors SG/SF

Thompson got a small vote of confidence last night from Coach Steve Kerr when he said Thompson will try and play in this second leg of a back-to-back. That would be his first time to do that this season, but the Warriors likely want to keep the hot-shooting Thompson in the lineup if possible. He put up 42.5 fantasy points last night after scoring 49 and 51 in two of his last three games. He averages about 16 three-point attempts per game over the last four games and the Clippers are 19th in the league in three-point percentage allowed.

Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors PF/C

Green is not in play at the MVP spot for me as he keeps yo-yo-ing up and down between fantasy points in the teens and twenties and fantasy points in the 40s. But he can easily go for 45+ on any given night and scored 39 fantasy points the last time these two teams played earlier this season. Green won’t have a tough defensive assignment with either Marcus Morris or Ivica Zubac in front of him, so look for him to be very active all over the floor.

Norman Powell, Los Angeles Clippers SG/SF

The minutes for Powell are something to watch tonight as the Clippers now have Eric Gordon back in the fold, but Powell has been playing so well lately. They can’t diminish Powell’s role after he scores more than 30 fantasy points in four of his last six games, right? Powell dropped 31 fantasy points in 29 minutes in their last contest and I’m guessing the minutes stay secure between 25-28 every night.

DART THROWS

Ty Jerome, Golden State Warriors PG

When Stephen Curry is out, it looks like we know exactly what we are going to get from Ty Jerome every night. He has played 18 or 19 minutes and scored between 16 and 21 fantasy points for five straight games. That’s a safe floor at a lot salary tonight when most of the players we want have a steep price tag. And if this game turns into a blowout, you can expect a lot of Jerome in the fourth quarter.

Bones Hyland, Los Angeles Clippers PG

Bones packs his bag and moves from Denver to Los Angeles where he is hoping to become the backup point guard with a significant role in the second-team offense. He hopes to earn a larger slice of the minutes in LA after becoming persona non grata with the Nuggets, and if he does, we know he can put up points in a hurry. The last time Hyland played the Warriors, he scored 21 fantasy points in 29 minutes. As the primary backup to Mann (and the point guard LA will go to if they need offense), Hyland should be a strong value for only $4,000 on DK.
