There might be a little something going on tonight called the Super Bowl, but before we get to that point, there is some NBA action to enjoy. This afternoon’s NBA DFS Showdown Slate takes us to Toronto as the Pistons take on the Raptors. Detroit is still waiting for their trade to go through so they are likely going to be without both Saddiq Bey and James Wiseman while the Raptors are still playing without OG Anunoby while welcoming Jakob Poeltl into the fold. Let us take a look at some options to consider while building your lineups to finish in the green.

Detroit Pistons Injuries

Marvin Bagley III – Out

James Wiseman – Questionable (pending trade)

Cade Cunningham - Out

Toronto Raptors Injuries

OG Anunoby – Out

MVP/Captain

Fred VanVleet, Toronto Raptors

It is a great matchup for VanVleet this afternoon against Detroit as the Pistons struggle against opposing point guards and he has been having a strong offensive season for Toronto. With Anunoby out, he is averaging 22.8 points in his last five games with his 5.8 assists and 5.6 rebounds providing a nice floor alongside the offensive upside.

Pascal Siakam, Toronto Raptors

Siakam is coming off a 35-point effort on Friday and he now has Jakob Poeltl to help carry the load in the post. The good thing though is that nothing changes offensively for Siakam, who is averaging 27 points in his last five games as he remains the number one option with Toronto. There should be plenty of room to operate for Siakam this afternoon as this is another game he can take over.

Bojan Bogdanovic, Detroit Pistons

Bogdanovic has emerged as the top offensive option on most days for Detroit. The veteran will get all of the shots that he can handle, on Friday that lead to him scoring 32 points on 11-of-24 shooting. For the most part, Bogdanovic is a one-dimensional player, but that is taken into account with his price.

Utility

Jalen Duren, Detroit Pistons

While we do not want to go chasing here with Duren, the rookie has been pretty locked in as of late averaging 13 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. On Friday, Duren went off for 30 points and 17 rebounds.

Jakob Poeltl, Toronto Raptors

While Poeltl did come off the bench in his debut with Toronto, even if he does not make his way into the starting lineup, I would expect his role to increase. Poeltl took things slow with six points and four rebounds in 16 minutes, but he is too good a player not to have an expanded role.

Gary Trent, Toronto Raptors

There was a lot to like about Trent’s performance on Friday even though he made just 35% of his shots from the field and two-of-nine from downtown. That is because Trent also grabbed five rebounds and four assists to go along with 19 points. So from a DFS perspective, it was a 40-point game on DraftKings. We know that Trent is going to take tons of shots and play a lot of minutes, so we can certainly work with this.

Jaden Ivey, Detroit Pistons

If Ivey has a strong shooting night like he did a few games ago, the potential for 24 points is going to be there but if not, the rookie is still going to hit double figures. Ivey is coming off one of his better games where he scored 17 points to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists and he will continue to have a consistent role for Detroit.

Dart Throws

Isaiah Livers, Detroit Pistons

With Saddiq Bey on the move, or at least held up from playing today, Livers will be the clear beneficiary as he steps in to fill those minutes. On Friday, that was certainly the case as Livers scored 11 points while grabbing ten rebounds in 40 minutes of action. With that workload, he is in position to hit his value strictly based on him accumulating stats.

Hamidou Diallo, Detroit Pistons

Diallo generally plays between 17-20 minutes per game, and that usually gives him enough time to heat up offensively as he scored 14 points on Friday.
