We have a fun DFS Showdown slate tonight between the Charlotte Hornets and the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, we will not see Stephen Curry in this one as he is injured for the foreseeable future. Instead, I think it is safe to say the Warriors are led by Jordan Poole, and he will be going head-to-head with LaMelo Ball.

NBA DFS Showdown Slate

MVP/Captain

LaMelo Ball, Charlotte Hornets

LaMelo is the highest-priced player on this slate, as he should be. He has four straight games in which he has scored over 50 fantasy points and one game in the 60s. He is not only scoring he is doing everything else as well. Ball has at least seven assists and seven rebounds in three straight games. LaMelo is the safest play of the night but you will have to pay up for him as he is $2,100 more than Jordan Poole.

Jordan Poole, Golden State Warriors

If you want to save some money at the captain spot Poole might be your best option. If Poole gets it going early he has a 50-point+ type of ceiling. But if it is a blowout, his floor can fall from underneath him. He has scored at least 31 fantasy points in five of his last six games. Charlotte is awful defensively so if Poole gets going early, watch out.

Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors

If you want to put a dart throw in your captain spot so to speak, why not Klay? Klay can get as hot as anybody from behind the arc, and Charolette is and defensive team. On Christmas in a win, Klay scored 42 fantasy points and he only shot 8-25 and 3-12  from downtown. If Klay gets it going, he can explode once again in this one.

Utility

Donte DiVincenzo, Golden State Warriors

DiVincenzo is an important player in this Warriors rotation with all the injuries. Donte is in the starting lineup and has played at least 31 minutes in four straight games. The number that you really love to see is that he has scored at least 31 fantasy points in four out of his last five games. Play DiVincenzo tonight.

Gordon Hayward, Charlotte Hornets

The ceiling isn't there like it used to be for Hayward, as he has only hit 30 fantasy points once in the last five games. But, if you need a guy who is going to get you 20+ points he is your guy. He has done so in six of his last seven games. Hayward is just a blah option, but he could be useful at $6,600.

Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors

Green was just awesome on Christmas day in the win over the Grizzlies. He only scored three game points, but he impacted the game in every other aspect of the game. He had 13 assists and rebounds to go along with two blocks. You could tell the Warriors were fired up for that game. Does, Draymond bring that same fire tonight? I'm willing to find out.

P.J. Washington, Charlotte Hornets

Pj Washington has just been feeling himself the last two games and is shooting lights out. Washinton is combined 17-26 over that span and 7-11 from behind the three-point line. If you want to ride the hot streak, I have no problem with it at all at $5,800.

Dart Throw

Ty Jerome, Golden State Warriors

Ty Jerome is a perfect salary-saving option tonight with him at $2,800. I feel it is a total misprice here. Jerome is playing around 20 minutes per game and has scored at least 18 fantasy points in four out of his last five games. Jerome is a great option tonight against a bad Charlotte defense.

Anthony Lamb, Golden State Warriors

Anthony Lamb carries a bit more risk than Jerome. He has scored over 15 fantasy points in three of his last five games. However, he has scored failed to scored double-digit fantasy points in the two other games, so the floor could fall out from underneath him. Just know, there is a ton of risk here, but that is baked into his price.
