We have a lot of star power for tonight's NBA DFS Showdown slate tonight between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers. Denver is led by back-to-back MVP winner Nikola Jokic. The Lakers are led by Anthony Davis and LeBron James who are both on the injury report and both remain likely to play.

NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

MVP/CAPTAIN

Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets

Nikola Jokic is the highest-priced player on the slate and rightfully so. Over the past two games, Jokic has just been going nuts scoring over 80 fantasy points in each of those games. He has also scored over 30 game points in four of his last five games. That is saying something considering he has also had at least eight assists in each game. Not an easy matchup for Jokic by any means against Davis, but he will still get his. I'm not sure he should be priced at $1,200 more than AD, but here we are.

Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

Davis, like Jokic, has been on a tear recently as well. He has scored at least 60 fantasy points in three out of his last four fully played games including a high game of 85 points. Davis has also scored at least 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in all of those games, including a 55-point outing. With Davis and Jokic having the same ceiling, I lean toward Davis tonight who is $1,200 cheaper for some reason.

LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers

Lebron is just still solid when he is on the court. He played a whopping 43 minutes in the Lakers last game against the Celtics posting a line of 33/9/9 for 63 fantasy points. He doesn't have quite the ceiling Jokic and Davis have for MVP, but if you can afford him for utility, he is a solid play.

UTILITY

Russell Westbrook, Los Angeles Lakers

We had thought that maybe Westbrook's numbers would take a hit with Dennis Schroeder back from injury. However, that has just not been the case. He is averaging 29 minutes in his last five games which is perfectly fine. He is still averaging 39.7 fantasy points a night. He is a bit pricey, but if you can fit him in he is a solid play.

Jamal Murray, Denver Nuggets

Jamal Murray has taken a step back recently with Nikola Jokic going off the last few games. Murray only got up six shots in their last game, and only scored 19.5 fantasy points against the Wizards which is unlike him. I do not expect him to be that passive in a good matchup in this one. He had scored closer to 40 fantasy points in the two prior games and I would expect him to come close to that tonight.

Bones Hyland, Denver Nuggets

Bones has been getting consistent minutes over his last four games and is making the most of it. Hyland has played at least 21 minutes over these last four games and has scored at least 22 fantasy points in all of them. Bones is just a bucket as he has scored double-digits in each game as well. Bones is a solid play if you can afford him in your lineup.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Denver Nuggets

KCP has a nice role within this Nuggets wing rotation as he starts and plays around 30 minutes each game. He has scored at least 23 fantasy points in three of his last five games. We can't forget the revenge game narrative either. KCP should have another solid game in a good matchup, and his price is really nice.

DART THROWS

Austin Reaves, Los Angeles Lakers

Austin Rivers is a very underrated player for this Lakers team. He has played at least 31 minutes in his last five games. Over his last three games, he has scored 17 fantasy points in four and went nuts for 39 fantasy points in one game, and 25 real points. He only scored four-game points last game and still finished with 24.5 fantasy points

Jeff Green, Denver Nuggets

Green is the definition of a dart throw tonight. He has played 15 minutes in each of his last four games scoring at least 17 fantasy points twice in five games. He is priced at $2,200 and if you want to get multiple studs in your lineup tonight, you might have to go Green here.
