We have a very interesting NBA DFS showdown matchup tonight between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers are on the second leg of a back-to-back and will be resting Kawhi Leonard and Bradley Beal. The Thunder are healthy road favorites due to those factors, and James Harden will need to carry a massive workload for the Clippers. Let’s dive into the breakdown of today’s single game!

DFS Captain / MVP Picks

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC

(DK CPT - $18,000, UTIL - $12,000 / FD CPT - $24,300, UTIL - $16,200)

The MVP has the highest ceiling on the slate and he's already scored 55 points in a game this season. The ownership is unlikely to get out of control with Harden significantly cheaper and the Clippers resting players on the back-to-back. Even with Kawhi Leonard out, SGA has the highest likelihood of putting up the top score on the slate.

James Harden, LAC

(DK CPT - $14,700, UTIL - $9,800 / FD CPT - $19,500, UTIL - $13,000)

Harden offers a significant discount from SGA and has a similar ceiling, especially with Kawhi Leonard and Bradley Beal out. In 38 games without Kawhi Leonard last season, Harden posted a usage rate above 31%. He's put up 50+ fantasy points in four of his last five games and has a great chance to do it again tonight.

Ivica Zubac, LAC

(DK CPT - $11,700, UTIL - $7,800 / FD CPT - $12,900, UTIL - $8,600)

Zubac should be locked in for low-30s minutes and a double-double with Leonard and Beal out. He has legitimate 20-20 upside with the usage left behind by those two stars and a matchup against a poor rebounding team.

DFS Utility Picks

Chet Holmgren, OKC

(DK CPT - $13,200, UTIL - $8,800 / FD CPT - $16,500, UTIL - $11,000)

Holmgren is expected to return to the lineup after missing the last three games with a back injury. He put up two huge performances right before the injury, including one outing of 50+ fantasy points. The big man will look to pick up right where he left off.

John Collins, LAC

(DK CPT - $8,400, UTIL - $5,600 / FD CPT - $7,200, UTIL - $4,800)

He's averaging 24 minutes per game and has a path to significantly more than that with Kawhi Leonard out. It is only a 61-minute sample, but Collins has posted a 20.9% usage rate with Leonard and Beal off the court this season.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, LAC

(DK CPT - $3,000, UTIL - $2,000 / FD CPT - $2,100, UTIL - $1,400)

Likely the most popular UTIL play on the slate due to a dirt cheap price tag and a significant bump in role with Leonard and Beal out. There's a possibility he starts and logs 30 minutes, and his floor is probably a mid-20s role off the bench, which makes him way too cheap for his price. He only played six games without Leonard last season, but he posted a 24% usage rate in those contests.
