The Heat visit the Clippers in Wednesday night’s featured DFS Showdown, setting up an exciting matchup between the new-look Heat and the Clippers. The Heat have won two of their last three games thanks in large part to Giannis Antetokounmpo's play while the Clippers and Darius Garland are riding a six-game losing streak.
Be sure to monitor injury updates, confirmed starting lineups, and projected minutes before lock to identify the best captain/MVP options and salary-saving plays. Let’s dive into the NBA DFS Showdown playbook breakdown for today’s game, starting at 10:30 pm ET.

DFS Captain / MVP Picks
Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIA
(DK $20,400 / FD $27,000)
There have been few players in the league that have been better fantasy players than Giannis Antetokounmpo this season. He has posted a 34.8% USG and is averaging north of 1.7 FP/min on both DK and FD. What more could you possibly ask for? In a good game he probably scores north of 100 points as a captain.
Bam Adebayo, MIA
(DK $14,700 / FD $19,500)
Right behind Giannis Antetokounmpo in basically every major category on the Heat is Bam Adebayo, so if you're trying to make everything fit tonight, you can use Adebayo in the captain's spot as he's nearly $6K cheaper on DK and nearly $8K on FD. Adebayo hasn't had the ball in his hands as much (22.7% USG) but he's averaging 1.2 FP/min this season.
Darius Garland, LAC
(DK $15,600 / FD $18,000)
We've yet to see a real ceiling out of Darius Garland, but we know he has it in him. It's a fantastic matchup for him going up against the Heat as they rank 27th in DRtg and 4th in pace. Garland leads the team with a 31% USG and averages 1 FP/min this year. This is one of those spots a ceiling can come to the forefront.
DFS Utility Picks
Davion Mitchell, MIA
(DK $8,200 / FD $9,400)
It's been a nightly thing now, but Davion Mitchell is actually a double-double threat. He's had a fantastic floor and has even flashed a 40+ FP ceiling (twice). His floor has been 29 DKP, too. Mitchell's nearly at 20% USG and is averaging 1 FP/min and is the perfect fit in this uptempo offense, we saw it a year ago and it's even better this year.
Rui Hachimura, LAC
(DK $7,800 / FD $5,000)
It hasn't been as good of a start for Rui Hachimura as we would've thought considering who's been out for the Clippers, but he's coming off his best game of the year. He posted a near-26% USG and scored a season-high 24 points last time out. It's a fantastic spot for the Clippers.
Kris Dunn, LAC
(DK $7,400 / FD $7,000)
I'm not a big fan of Kris Dunn in DFS because he is a very-low usage player, but his ceiling has been on display on multiple occasions this year. Dunn has topped 33.8 DKP three times this season and has topped 40 FP to boot. Dunn has a .94 FP/min on DK and .99 FP/min on FD as well.
Isaiah Jackson, LAC
(DK $6,000 / FD $8,400)
Of all the Clippers this year, Isaiah Jackson leads the team in FP/min at 1.16 on DK and 1.18 FP on FD. Jackson was actually brought off the bench last game and had his best game of the year, so that's likely going to be the case moving forward. If he gets 26 minutes, who cares if he starts or comes off the bench, or parachutes down from the big scoreboard in LA.
Pelle Larsson, MIA
(DK $5,400 / FD $4,400)
The minutes have been awesome for Pelle Larsson and the production has largely been good too. He hasn't played fewer than 24 minutes and has played upwards of 36 to boot. He does a little of everything and that's what the appeal is.
DFS Dart Throws
- Brook Lopez, LAC (DK $4,000 / FD $3,800)
- Max Strus, LAC (DK $3,600 / FD $3,000)
- Klay Thompson, MIA (DK $4,200 / FD $2,800)
- Tim Hardaway, MIA (DK $2,400 / FD $2,600)
