We have a great late-night matchup for the NBA DFS Showdown slate here with the Cleveland Cavaliers traveling into Sacramento to take on the hosting Sacramento Kings. Although, it seems as if De'Aaron Fox may not suit up to play tonight labeled with a “questionable” designation, the Kings still will present a tough test to the Cavaliers with Domantas Sabonis, Keegan Murray, and sixth-man, Malik Monk. We will monitor the Fox news and keep you posted. The Cavaliers will look again to their star-studded backcourt in Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland to bolster the load, as well as Evan Mobley to continue to be a force in the paint! Let's talk about this contest!

Finding some of the NBA DFS top picks could be easier if you look at Fantasy Alarm’s NBA DFS Projections, powered by FanJections. Let’s dive into the complete breakdown for tonight’s showdown slate.

NBA DFS Showdown CPT/MVP Top Plays

Domantas Sabonis (C), Sacramento Kings

Sabonis continues to be one of the main driving force of this King's starting unit with Fox on the floor or not. Sabonis has recorded 56.75 and 60.75 DraftKings fantasy points in his last two home contests although without Fox, and even though the Cavaliers are tough in the frontcourt, this likely won't stop Sabonis too awful much. Only ONE game so far this season has seen Sabonis NOT top 40 fantasy points, as he just does a little bit of everything in the stat sheet and that is what makes him such a high upside play once again tonight.

De'AAron Fox (PG) - Sacramento Kings

We don't know yet if he will be on a minutes limit, but the fact that he is able to suit up is pretty big here. As mentioned below in the Keon Ellis bit, the Cavaliers have been the WORST team at defending opposing PGs so far this season. As long as Fox is a full go, he is MORE than worthy of MVP/CPT spot here.

Donovan Mitchell (PG/SG), Cleveland Cavaliers

With Garland getting back into the mix and fully healthy, it has dampened Mitchell's upside a tad, however, we know the type of performances Mitchell can bring and obviously, he is one player that is hard to catch up to in terms of fantasy points when he absolutely goes ballistic. Mitchell still leads the team in usage rate at a decent margin at 31.5% on the season (Garland at 25.7%), and has topped 43 fantasy points in four of his last five games, with three of those games reaching 48 or more.

De'Aaron Fox (PG - Kings) - IF HE PLAYS and FULL GO.

NBA DFS Showdown UTIL Top Plays

Darius Garland (PG), Cleveland Cavaliers

Garland is an excellent floor play here tonight and should be treated as such. Going for 42 fantasy points last time out vs the Warriors, Garland has now topped 35 fantasy points in three-straight contests. Starting PG for the Kings is now Davion Mitchell, who is more known for his defense than his offense, and I do believe the Kings backcourt will look to limit Garland's play-making ability here tonight.

Malik Monk (PG/SG), Sacramento Kings

Monk has taken off with Fox sidelined over the last week or more, putting up multiple games of 30+ fantasy points, and showing that upside with a 46.5 fantasy outing against the Trail Blazers two games ago, as well as, a 35.5 fantasy point effort in Houston against the Rockets a few games ago.  we still like Monk, as he is a high usage, high upside play.

Evan Mobley (PF/C), Cleveland Cavaliers

Mobley is another play much like Garland that is essentially a great floor play here tonight. The Kings are a tough team to play against, especially on their home court. Mobley presents a play that will see lots of minutes, will grab you 12-15 points, 8-12 rebounds, a couple assists, and will have the occasional steal or two with a block or two. His price is what essentially puts me lower on him that guys like Garland and Monk, but he has managed 33 or more fantasy points in four of his last five games. With Jarrett Allen getting up to 28 minutes last game, this likely means he is nearing a full return to his usual starting center role and minutes, and this will limit Mobley's upside significantly in the frontcourt.

Others to Consider: Caris LeVert (SF/SG - Cavaliers), Keegan Murray (PF - Kings), Kevin Huerter (SG/SF - Kings).

NBA DFS Showdown Value Plays

Max Strus (SG/SF), Cleveland Cavaliers

Strus is a glue guy here for the Cavaliers and we have seen Strus already put up some really big games this season. The problem with Strus is that a lot of nights he is very shot-dependent and needs to hit his three-point shots to really have a nice floor. Strus is more of a boom or bust-type play, but if he does happen to have a great night, you will likely need him in your line up. Strus has been good over his last few games, recording 29 or more fantasy points in his last three contests.

Jarrett Allen (C), Cleveland Cavaliers

As mentioned above, Allen did see his highest minute total last time out vs the Warriors on Friday night and the Cavaliers have had two days to rest before coming into tonight's game. Allen hasn't exactly show-cased tremendous upside as he gets back to form in his role, but he has done enough to warrant a look here tonight. Allen has recorded at least 24 fantasy points in all games he has played so far this year, and if he does happen to get another 28+ minutes tonight, this price tag should pay off.

Keon Ellis (PG), Sacramento Kings

Ellis was given a starting nod in the Kings last two games after a couple of decent performances against the Trail Blazers and Rockets prior to in putting up 23, 14, and 22 DraftKings fantasy points in those three outings. The big thing here is that he saw 31 minutes in the start last game vs the Thunder. With the Cavaliers allowing many, many fantasy points to the PG position, Keon could come in as a sneaky play tonight as he could easily back up Fox here.

Others to consider: Harrison Barnes (SF/PF - Kings), Dean Wade (SF/PF - Cavaliers), Alex Len (C - Kings - Very well could need his size against this Cavaliers front and McGee is old).
