Happy Tuesday NBA fans! I hope everyone had a good and safe New Year, and is ready for this NBA DFS Showdown slate. We have an interesting matchup between the Orlando Magic flying across the country to take on Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. The Magic, led by Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, is the season's surprise team in the NBA. Let's dive into the matchup.

Finding some of the NBA DFS top picks could be easier if you look at Fantasy Alarm’s NBA DFS Projections, powered by FanJections. Let’s dive into the complete breakdown for tonight’s showdown slate.

NBA DFS Showdown CPT/MVP Top Plays

Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry is the highest-priced player on the slate, and I am not sure that should be the case. Steph has been going through a DFS lull as of late. The ceiling is in question for him having only scored 50 fantasy points once in his past 12 games. Plus, he has only scored over 40 fantasy points twice in his last five. Orlando is a very good defense and has plenty of guys they can throw at Curry. I feel like paying the price for Steph tonight might not be the best idea. However, he is Chef Curry, and I will never rule it out.

Paolo Banchero, Orlando Magic

Over the past six games or so, it looks like Paolo Banchero has taken his offense to the next level. He has been much more aggressive as of late getting up at least 19 attempts in his last five games. Not only is his scoring up, but he has grabbed at least nine rebounds in three of his last five games, and at least four assists in all five of those games. That gives Banchero a solid floor, plus he has the highest ceiling on the slate in my opinion. Banchero is my top Captain play tonight.

Franz Wagner, Orlando Magic

This Magic team is so fun to watch and Franz Wagner is a huge part of this. Like Banchero, Wagner has taken his offense to the next level as he has scored at least 24 points in six straight games. His other numbers outside scoring are also improving giving him a solid floor and ceiling. He has a ceiling game opportunity tonight with the Warriors starting three guards, they will struggle to match up with Wagner.

NBA DFS Showdown UTIL Top Plays

Brandin Podziemski, Golden State Warriors

Brandin Podziemski went back to the bench in their last game with the Warriors struggling as of late. Well, it did not hurt Podzs' production. He still played 29 minutes, scored 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out four assists. As long as Podz continues to see 30 minutes, he will produce solid DFS numbers. His price is a bit high sitting at $7,400 but I am ok paying it, because he has a fantastic floor each night because of the rebounding and Assist floor.

Jalen Suggs, Orlando Magic

Jalen Suggs is just about as steady as it comes. That's why his teammates and the Orlando fans absolutely love him. Markelle Fultz is questionable heading into tonight, but I do not think that affects Suggs very much. Suggs is coming off a clunker going just 1-11 from the field finishing with just 15.5 fantasy points. He won't struggle like that once again in this one. Plus, he is going to most likely get the defensive assignment on Curry tonight. I look for him to get a couple of stocks tonight, leading to a solid fantasy output from Suggs.

Chris Paul, Golden State Warriors

Chris Paul was inserted into back into the starting lineup in the last game. He took full advantage of it playing 33 minutes and scoring a season-high 24 points. He finished that game with 44.5 fantasy points on the back of going 6-9 from behind the three-point line. That most likely won't happen again with him shooting just 33% from downtown on the season. But he can supplement those points with more assists in this one. With him being under 7K on DraftKings for this slate, he is a lock for me.

Andrew Wiggins, Golden State Warriors

Wiggins has played much better once he went to the bench. It looks like he has even more confidence as well, getting up at least 11 shot attempts in his last five games. In his last five games, he has scored over 30 fantasy points in three of his past five games. But it has been a bit of a roller coaster with him failing to score over 20 in the other two games. That doesnt matter to me. To be able to get someone who can score 40 fantasy points for $5,200, you do it.

NBA DFS Showdown Value Top Plays

Trayce Jackson-Davis, Golden State Warriors

This is just an absolute miss-price tonight. Trayce Jackson-Davis was moved into the starting lineup for the Warriors. He has played 26, and 29 minutes in back-to-back games. With him playing that type of run, his floor is 20+ fantasy points. There is no reason for him to be priced this low, making him a must-play in your lineup tonight.

Anthony Black, Orlando Magic

This one is interesting because of Markelle Fultz is questionable heading into this one which could lead to a big hit for his minutes. If Fultz doesn't play in this one, Black is a solid play because he has the ability to go over 30 fantasy points and he is just priced at $4,600. The Magic may look to play Black more tonight because of his size and length could affect the smaller backcourt Golden State possesses.

Dario Saric, Golden State Warriors

With the emergence of Trayce Jackson-Davis Dario Saric has taken a bit of a back seat. However, he is still playing more minutes than Kevon Looney. Saric will see about 15-20 minutes tonight, and he has the ability to score 20+ fantasy points because of his offensive ability. We love to see him rebounding the ball as well as he has grabbed at least five rebounds in four straight games. at 4K on DraftKings, the price puts him in play tonight.
