Hello NBA fans, we have a very fun matchup for the NBA DFS Showdown slate tonight. We have two Western Conference teams in the Memphis Grizzlies who are traveling to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves. The Grizzlies are banged up but have guys like Jaren Jackson stepping up. While Minnesota has been staying steady on the shoulders of Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Finding some of the NBA DFS top picks could be, easier if you look at Fantasy Alarm’s NBA DFS Projections, powered by FanJections. Let’s dive into the complete breakdown for tonight’s showdown slate between the Brooklyn Nets and Portland Trail Blazers.

Memphis Grizzlies Injuries:

Minnesota Timberwolves Injuries

NBA DFS Showdown CPT/MVP Top Plays

Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Edwards is the most expensive player on the slate, because well, he is the best player. The only worry about him tonight is if this game ends up in a blowout. Las Vegas sure seems to think this game will not be close with the Timberwolves favored by 12 points. In the last two blowout wins for the Wolves Edwards had down games scoring just 25 and 13 fantasy. There is some risk in this tonight, but if this game happens to stay close, Edwards will be great.

Jaren Jackson, Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies are absolutely riddled with injuries right now missing Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and more. With them being out, Jaren Jackson Jr. is the only alpha left on this roster. His usage takes a big jump with Ja Morant off the court going from 24% to 29%. He also takes three more shots a game at almost 17 attempts. Like, Anthony Edwards, this game needs to stay somewhat close for Jackson to hit his ceiling tonight, so maybe paying down is a good option tonight at the captain position.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves

Kat is probably the best option at the captain spot tonight because of the potential blowout. In the last two blowout wins for the Timberwolves Kat has finished with 40 and 50.5 fantasy points. He seems to have the best floor on the slate with a pretty solid ceiling being able to score 50 fantasy. I expect KAT to once again have a big game for the Timberwolves.

NBA DFS Showdown Utility Top Plays

Rudy Gobert, Minnesota Timberwolves

Rudy Gobert is in play tonight because of his outstanding floor. That floor is great because he is just a rebounding monster. Gobert has grabbed at least 12 rebounds in six straight games. He is also doing his thing on the defensive side like he normally does, blocking 10 shots in his last four games. If you can afford Gobert in your lineup tonight, I would play him.

Vince Williams, Memphis Grizzlies

With all the injuries to the Grizzlies, Vince Williams has been great over the last two games. He has finished with 43 and 44 fantasy points in those two games while playing 36 and 38 minutes. He also just signed an extension with the Grizzlies as well, so he is going to want to show out again. You can keep riding the wave with Williams even though his price has caught up with him sitting at 8K on DraftKings.

Xavier Tillman, Memphis Grizzlies

Tillman is back as a big-time contributor in this Grizzlies rotation. He has played at least 28 minutes in his last four games. During those games, he has finished with over 34 fantasy points in each. We have seen time and time again this season that when he gets extended run, he will put up numbers, because he can score, grab rebounds, and block shots. His price is at 7K on DraftKings, which is a touch high but is still reasonable.

NBA DFS Showdown Value Top Plays

Jacob Gilyard, Memphis Grizzlies

Gilyard has been very solid over his past two games. He got to start one game and played 32 minutes. Gilyard played 19 in the last game and came off the bench, but still finished with 25 fantasy points. If this game ends up being a blowout Gilyard will get an extended run, and he does have a 30-point ceiling in that case.

GG Jackson, Memphis Grizzlies

GG Jackson is going to be the chalkiest play on the main slate along with this showdown slate as well. He has played 27 and 29 minutes in his past two games and finished with 33 and 41 fantasy points. He has shot a great 7-12 from behind the arc which is hard to say if that will continue. However at this price, and production he is pretty much a free square, making him a must-play on this slate. Also, if you want to get really crazy, maybe put him as your captain tonight.
