Happy hump day everyone! It is Wednesday, December 6, 2023, and we have an awesome DFS Showdown matchup. The Denver Nuggets are traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers. The amount of star power on this slate is wild with the likes of  Nikola Jokic, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard just to name a few.

Finding some of the NBA DFS top picks could be easier if you look at Fantasy Alarm’s NBA DFS Projections, powered by FanJections. Let’s dive into the complete breakdown for tonight’s showdown slate.

NBA DFS Showdown CPT/MVP Top Plays

Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets

What do I need to say about the Joker? The man is a stud, he is just so much more expensive than anyone else on the slate tonight if you decide to put him as your captain. Jokic is $4,500 more expensive than the next guy. However, his ceiling is higher than anybody else's on the slate, and if you do not play him there, it could sink your ship if he has a ceiling game. Jokic is coming off an 84.25 fantasy points. He is the best option tonight, he is just so expensive.

Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers

In the last matchup between the Clippers and Nuggets Paul Geroge really struggled offensively. He finished that game 2-13 from the field, as he couldn't get into a rhythm because of foul trouble. The good thing about it is he struggled that bad, and still finished with 24.5 fantasy points giving him a solid floor. He is also playing at least 36 minutes each night. If you pivot off of Jokic tonight, I believe George is the right play.

Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers

With George struggling in the last matchup against the Nuggets, It was Kawhi who had to step up. Leonard got up 26 shots but knocked down just 10 of them. He finished with 51 fantasy points in that game. That was the second game in his last five games scoring over 50 fantasy points. If people pivot off of Jokic, it is most likely going to be to Leonard. That's why I believe I would rather have George tonight, for leverage. If I am wrong and the field is on George, I will pivot to Leonard.

NBA DFS Showdown UTIL Top Plays

James Harden, Los Angeles Clippers

It has been a roller coaster ride with James Harden since coming over to the Clippers. However, he has been very good over the past three games scoring over 36 fantasy in each game, along with a ceiling game of 50 fantasy points. Over those three games, Harden has gone over a 17% usage rate and two games over 20. In the three previous games, Harden didn't see over a 17% percent usage rate. He is becoming more involved in the Clippers offense, and for DFS purposes let's hope that stays.

Michael Porter Jr., Denver Nuggets

Michael Porter has been very solid as of late for the Nuggets. When you think of Porter you think of an offensive-minded player, but he has been doing the other things as of late. He has grabbed at least 10 rebounds in three of his past five games, giving him an awesome floor each night. Jamal Murry is questionable heading into this one, but that doesn't really matter for Porter since his usage and numbers stay the same with or without Murray. I view Pporter as a very solid bet tonight.

Jamal Murray, Denver Nuggets

Jamal Murray is questionable heading into this matchup with the Clippers, but if he plays he is definitely worth a look. In his game back before the ankle injury, he finished with 34 fantasy points in just 22 minutes. He scored 16 points grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists before the injury. He partially practiced yesterday so make sure to keep up-to-date on his status if he is a go.

If Murray ends up sitting Russell Westbrook is a fine consolation prize around the same price or you can pay down to Reggie Jackson who has been awesome as of late.

Ivica Zubac, Los Angeles Clippers

Zubac has been so solid over his past five games it would be hard to keep him out of your lineup tonight. His minutes do fluctuate quite a bit playing anywhere from 23-32 minutes a night, but his production stays around the same floating around that 30 fantasy point number. He is only $6,000 on DraftKings which puts him as an auto-lock for me as he scored 45 fantasy points the last time he matched up with Jokic.

NBA DFS Top Value Plays

Terance Mann, Los Angeles Clippers

Mann is in the starting lineup for this Clippers team next to the stars. He takes a backseat most nights, but he is still getting around 25 minutes a night. Mann has gone over 20 fantasy points just twice in his last five games. However, he has gotten up double-digit shot attempts in three of them which we like to see. He played 30 minutes in the last matchup against the Nuggets, if he plays that again tonight, it would be hard for him to not hit his value.

Christian Braun, Denver Nuggets

Braun is cheap tonight and he has a defined role off the bench. He floats around 20-25 minutes a night and he has made the most of those minutes as of late. He has scored over 20 fantasy points in back-to-back games for the first time since the middle of November. Keep in mind he did struggle in the last outing against the Clippers scoring just 5.5 fantasy points. To be fair, he got into some foul trouble and could not get into a rhythm. He does not have a massive ceiling, but nobody at this price tonight really does either.

Justin Holiday, Denver Nuggets

Holiday is a big-time dart throw tonight but at just $3,600 he could be worth a look. He is back with the bench unit with Aaron Gordon coming back from injury and only played 12 minutes. That is a bummer considering Holiday had scored over 20 fantasy points in three straight games prior to that one and saw over 20 minutes. It is a very sketchy play, but at the price, it is what it is and you may need him if you want Jokic in the captain spot.
