We only have one game on the NBA schedule tonight as the Dallas Mavericks take on the Detroit Pistons for our DFS Showdown. Luka Doncic and the Mavericks are coming into this one fresh off a huge win against the Golden State Warriors and can win this one to get back over .500. The Pistons are struggling without their best player Cade Cunningham who is dealing with a stress fracture in his leg, they have lost 10 of their last 12 games.  Now, let's break down some players you will want to play in this showdown slate.

Dallas Mavericks Injuries

Kemba Walker - TBD

Christian Wood - Questionable

Detroit Pistons Injuries

Jaden Ivey - Questionable

Cade Cunningham - OUT

MVP/Captain

Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks

There are three things certain in life, and those are death, taxes, and Luka Doncic scoring over 45 fantasy points. Luka has done so in every single game this season and he is coming off an 88 fantasy point performance against the defending champs. Doncic posted a 41/12/12 line in 39 minutes, just silly. He is priced at $8,700 more than any other player on the DK slate, as he should be. He is my captain tonight.

Christian Wood, Dallas Mavericks

Wood is one of the most annoying players when it comes to daily fantasy. His minutes fluctuate game by game because it seems like head coach Jason Kidd can not trust him on the defensive end of the floor. In 20 games this season Wood has only played over 30 minutes in three of them and scored over 35 fantasy points in each. He has only scored over 30 fantasy points in three other games, and two of them were the first two games of the season. He could be awesome in this one, I just do not see him getting a ton of run in a game that has blowout potential.

Killian Hayes, Detroit Pistons

With Jaden Ivey out the last three games, Killian Hayes has really stepped his game up with this opportunity. Hayes has scored 45.5, 37.25, and 27.75 fantasy points, and has gotten double-digit shot attempts in each game. He also has had at least six assists during that span, as the offense seems to be running through him at the point. Hayes is a solid play tonight, more so in a utility spot, however.

Utility

Spencer Dinwiddie, Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks have been looking for their Robin to their Batman and we thought it could be Spencer Dinwiddie, but he just hasn't quite cut it yet. Dinwiddie is averaging 17/5/3 but he isn't quite giving the same output Jalen Brunson did last season en route to the Western Conference Finals.  Dinwiddie has still been solid for fantasy purposes scoring over 22 fantasy points in 10 of his last 12 games.

Marvin Bagley, Detroit Pistons

Bagley has been awesome over his last five games. He is averaging 15.6 points per game to go along with 7.6 rebounds for 30 fantasy points per game. Unfortunately with Isaiah Stewart back in action Bagley only played 23 minutes in the last game, but that could have to do with it being a blowout against the Knicks. I wouldn't worry too much about that and get Bagley in your lineup.

Tim Hardaway Jr., Dallas Mavericks

Hardaway go the start over the ineffective Reggie Bullock in their last game against the Warriors and it paid off for the Mavs. He played 31 minutes and shot 8-16 from the floor for 22 points and 32.5 fantasy points. I expect Hardaway to get the start in this one once again. If he is good again in this, we may be able to trust him moving forward.

Isaiah Stewart, Detroit Pistons

Stewart came back in the Pistons last game and played great. The high-energy big scored 19 points and hauled in five rebounds. He also shot 5-9 from the three-point line, I know that will not continue at that clip, but he is a 36% three-point shooter, so it is a part of his game. Stewart will get a consistent 25 minutes per game and is a solid play due to the energy he plays with. He has only scored under 20 fantasy points in two games this season, and one was the game he got injured in.

Alec Burks, Detroit Pistons

I get it, Burks really disappointed in the Pistons last game only playing 15 minutes and scoring just 11 fantasy points. Burks hasn't been getting a ton of minutes recently but he has been able to produce for fantasy purposes scoring at least 20 fantasy points in six of his last eight games. I'm fine putting Burks back in my lineup tonight.

Dart Throws

Dorian Finney-Smith, Dallas Mavericks

I love that Finney-smith is priced under $5,000 on DraftKings because you need him in your lineup if you want to have Luka at the captain spot. He has been super solid over his past five games scoring over 20 fantasy points in each. If he gets double-digit shot attempts in this one we could see him score 30 fantasy points.

Maxi Kleber, Dallas Mavericks

I have been burned by Kleber many times this season, but am willing to get hurt once again in this one. Look, Kleber has played 29, 24, and 25 minutes in his last three games. The minutes are there, just hasn't been much consistency from Kleber. He is averaging the lowest amount of rebounds since his rookie season and shooting the lowest percentage from behind the arc in his career. Perhaps, tonight is the night he breaks out of his season-long shooting slump against this bad Pistons team.

Note:

If Jaden Ivey plays tonight, he is a fine play and Killian Hayes takes a bit of a hit. I just do not anticipate Ivey playing tonight.
