It is Friday! That means payday, and not just from your job… but from the 11 NBA games slated today. This column is four of six for bets on the year (one was our moneyback ‘no sweat’ bet on MGM). With the New Orleans Pelicans delivering on the THREE UNIT bet, we are up 4.81 units and almost 50% to the first step of our goal. We have numerous NBA bets to choose from today, but the best bets are the ones mentioned below. The defending champion Denver Nuggets travel to the Memphis Grizzlies for a Western Conference showdown. The Brooklyn Nets travel to Dallas which features several former teammates playing against each other. The NBA Friday game of the night on ESPN is at the California capital city of Sacramento. The Golden State Warriors travel to the Sacramento Kings in a renewed Pacific Division rivalry. Today’s NBA bets feature straight bets and a few NBA player props. Good luck!

NBA Best Bets & Player Props October 27th

NBA Best Bet of the Night

Denver Nuggets -5.5 (-110 BetMGM)

This line has moved to 5.5 on MGM this morning, and that is still a respectable number. We are not picking on the Memphis Grizzlies here at Fantasy Alarm, but the bookies' algorithm or odds makers are off on Memphis’ projected performance. The New Orleans Pelicans won by 7 Wednesday with OVER 20 TURNOVERS and 3 crucial role players missing. The Denver Nuggets are well rested, have their starting five playing (with a deep bench), and will not make nearly as many mental errors. The Nuggets are the champions, and teams usually improve their performance against champions. Betting the spread for a visiting team is not always the wisest, but the Grizzlies did not have the size to compete with the Pelicans, and the Nuggets are bigger, better coached, and still playing in a championship rhythm. Lay the unit.

NBA Player Prop of the Night

Dereck Lively II, Dallas Mavericks – OVER 6.5 Rebounds (-135 DK) 2 Units

The Dallas Mavericks played the San Antonio Spurs for their season opener and although all eyes and press coverage were on the Spurs' star rookie Victor Wembanyama, the Dallas Mavericks rookie, Dereck Lively II, shined the brightest on the court. Lively II had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 assist, a double-double for your first NBA game is rare and special accomplishment. He was not a starter but saw more floor time than starting center Max Kleber 31 to 23 minutes. Dallas has been desperately in need of a center since the championship year of 2011… Lively II could be him. Luka Doncic was the leading rebounder for the Mavericks last year (569), and while he is a generational talent, he should not be the teams' leader in all three categories as a player that does not play in the post. Doncic praised Lively II after the win, and with the Brooklyn Nets coming to town there is not a true center. Nic Claxton, the Nets starting center, has been ruled out for this game leaving Ben Simmons with the highest Nets rebound line, at 6.5. If Lively plays close to the minutes he did Wednesday, this should be an easy cover.

Best Bets for NBA Game of the Night

Golden State Warriors at Sacramento Kings Picks

This should be an interesting game to watch, simply from a fan perspective. However, there are some signs indicating that all is not quiet on the Western front. The Warriors are 0-1 and without their leader, Draymond Green for the second game. The Kings are 1-0, have a full roster, and tonight is their home opener. 67% of the money is on the Golden State Warriors, despite the Kings being at -140, MGM money line. That is the first bet, 1 unit Sacramento Kings moneyline.

The second bet is De’Aaron Fox OVER 1.5 threes made -125 on DK. He only made one at Utah, but the Jazz are the second-highest elevation stadium in the NBA, plus it was their first game of the season. He did however attempt seven shots from behind the arc. Fox is at home, with the Sacramento Kings faithful in the stands, and playing against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs in game seven last year… THOSE THINGS MATTER. They may not be quantified, but they are just as influential on the game as several statistics. He played 32 minutes and had 18 points in the season opener. He will need more points to beat the Warriors, and two made threes should be an easy cover for Fox at home.
