Now that all three days of NFL Wild Card Weekend are in the books, we turn our attention to the NBA with a doubleheader featured on NBC and Peacock. Those tip off with a potential Western Conference Finals preview with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and company hosting Victor Wembanyama’s guys, so we’ve got our best Spurs vs. Thunder predictions for tonight.

As if that didn’t sound exciting enough, we’ve also gone beyond just Spurs vs. Thunder picks with a guaranteed Novig Sportsbook promo code bonus with several FREE rewards as well!

Spurs vs. Thunder Predictions for NBA on NBC, 1/13

A potential Western Conference Finals preview is already reason enough to tune into this game, but that’s only a fraction of the story. We’ve made Spurs vs. Thunder predictions three other times this season, and each one has been among the most important games of the season thus far.

Although OKC has come down to Earth (slightly) since their unbelievable 24-1 start, it was as if the Spurs were the only team that could take them down. They did so in the NBA Cup semifinals AND in back-to-back games two days before Christmas Day and on the holiday! In all three of those wins, the Spurs vs. Thunder odds heavily favored OKC.

They do so again tonight, and with vengeance on their minds, it’s hard not to simply take them to cover as part of our NBA expert picks. While we do expect them to continue their most recent win streak to four (which is nothing for them), we also don’t want to sweat out the cover based on how Wemby and company have been defying the odds.

Don’t worry - we’ve still found a most specific approach where we see more value as the best bet from our Spurs vs. Thunder predictions!

Spurs vs. Thunder Best Bet: San Antonio Team Total Under 111.5 (-121 at Novig)

Both of these teams were on the court on Sunday, but only OKC came away with a victory. San Antonio suffered a narrow one-point loss, but as long as Victor Wembanyama finishes a game unscathed, it’s difficult for San Antonio fans to complain. Although he’s a factor in any Spurs vs. Thunder predictions, we’ve still got them staying under their team total.

Wemby quickly returned from his hyperextended knee, but with multiple injuries under his belt in his young career, the team still doesn’t give him a full workload. Even if and when they do, it’s clear that the Devin Vassell injury is taking its toll. That can easily be seen by simply looking at recent production.

Over their past six games, San Antonio has scored more than 110 points in ANY of their last six games, and has done so just once in their past eight games. Whether it’s control of the offense or just the pace of play, something is missing. It’s also why we see Wemby and company have the third-best record for unders this season.

As for OKC, most fans think about the flashiness of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but let’s not forget that they also won the NBA Finals and started this season so well by having the NBA’s best defense. It’s not perfect, but it’s strong enough for us to take San Antonio’s team total under 111.5 points (-121 at Novig) as the best bet from our Spurs vs. Thunder predictions.
