Meatloaf is back on the menu, and with a successful +168 parlay the profit was nice. The Philadelphia 76ers almost made it a sweep, but the Knicks squeaked by with a 3-point victory. Brandon Miller was able to wiggle off the hook and score 21 points against the Washington Wizards. The most impressive part of it was what he did on a crazy night of efficiency. 7 of 12 field goals and 5 of 5 free throws. If just one of those numbers is lower the bet is unsuccessful. There is nothing like living on the edge.

The Los Angeles Lakers cleared the -4.5 spread with 1.5 points to spare. It was a come-from-behind effort in the fourth quarter that sealed not only the victory, but the spread. Luka Doncic had a point line of 33.5 coming into the game, he scored 33. Good thing Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets suggested to tease down his points to 30+. Thus cashing the +168 parlay. Winning the parlay proved once again that ‘two out of three ain’t bad.’

NBA Best Bets Today, 1/25: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Sunday

There are eight NBA games today, beginning at 3:00 PM ET. There are some fantastic matches set today, but only one of them is nationally televised. The first best bet of the day comes from that match.

Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Sunday 1/25

Game Time: 5:30 PM ET | TV: NBATV | Location: Target Center | Odds: MIN -7.5 | O/U 235.5

There is a great deal of tragedy being experienced in Minneapolis today, and today’s game is a makeup game due to events that took place yesterday. Hopefully the Target Center can be an escape, as sports usually are. It is the only nationally televised match today, and it will be an emotional game, one way or another. The point line is set at 235.5, and the best bet of this match is the under.

Due to the cancellation, both teams were left to pass time in what is one the most chaotic cities/moments of the 21st century. The Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves are professionals and will come out ready to play, but they are also humans… and several are Americans. Steve Kerr (whose father was murdered by a gun) has been one of the most outspoken people about gun violence in not just the NBA, not just sports, but the entire nation, and he found himself in the proximity of chaos once again.

Together both teams average total is 236.8 points, and the line has been essentially set at their average. The change to their normal pattern should have an effect, but ultimately the Golden State Warriors lost their superstar, Jimmy Butler, for the season due to an ACL tear.

They are in scramble mode to find someone that can replace his scoring abilities. 20.0 points per game isn’t insurmountable, but it allows opposing teams to focus more intently on Stephen Curry. Outside of Curry there is not another 20.0 point per game player on the Warriors. Look for this match to go under the projected total on NBA TV.

New Orleans vs San Antonio Spurs: Sunday 1/25

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET | TV: ABC | Location: Frost Bank Center | Odds: SA -11.5 | O/U 239.5

The San Antonio Spurs host the New Orleans Pelicans in what is expected to be a high-scoring game. In fact this is the highest projected scoring game of today. The wise bet is to take the points on a player proposition, and that player is Trey Murphy.

He has been a great scorer this season, and one of the few reliable scorers for the Pelicans. He has scored 21 or more points in five of his last six games, and has a season average of 22.3 points per game. The Spurs allow 112.6 points per game, and Murphy will have an advantage with his ability to score from behind the three-point line.

He can also draw fouls and get points at the free-throw line. He attempted 12 free throws in the Pelicans most recent match, and made everyone of them. In fact, he is a perfect 19 of 19 from the charity stripe in his last three games. Look for Murphy to score at least his average tonight against the Spurs. Put a unit on the second best bet today.

NBA Prop Bet Today, 1/25

Draymond Green has been kind to Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets, and we return to him in a game against a person he has had a career of beef against. Rudy Gobert. Gobert can bring out the emotion in Green, to the point where he enforces a MMA chokehold on Gobert just to prevent him from getting a loose ball.

Green has been ejected twice this season, and one of those games featured a wager on Draymond to record less than 5.5 rebounds. An ejection tonight is a real possibility, one that is an accountable variable. However Gobert is back to being a rebounding stud. His line for this match is 11.5 with heavy juice on the over.

Naz Reid has been playing several minutes for Minnesota, and he is rebounding well too. His line is at 6.5, as is Julius Randle’s who is playing back to his All-Star form. Those are three stout players in Minnesota’s front court, and Green will have issues getting in position. Green has recorded over 5.5 rebounds just once in his last four games. Expect more of the same today in Minneapolis.
