Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets is living in “Lunch Lady Land”, but hold the sloppy joes though. This is a Meatloaf zone! And it is Meatloaf for the second day in a row! Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons breezed by the Indiana Pacers. And just as predicted Cunningham was rested in the fourth quarter, ensuring he stayed under 26.5 points.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker was unable to get off of the hook in his point proposition. He attempted 16 field goals, and in the past month-and-a-half if he attempts 16 field goals, he scored 20 or more points. The research was correct, the execution was not. The Portland Trail Blazers blew the Los Angeles Lakers out of the Moda Center. The good news is they easily cleared the 224.5 point total, proving once again that “two out of three ain’t bad”.

NBA Best Bets Today, 1/18: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Sunday

There are six games today and there are a few expected blowouts. The games begin at 12:00 PM ET, and last until 11:00 PM ET. The games span from London to Los Angeles and there are best bets from tea time to last call. Let’s start with the game (and friends) across the pond.

Orlando Magic vs Memphis Grizzlies: Sunday 1/18

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET | TV: Amazon Prime Video | Location: O2 Arena | Odds: ORL -3.5 | O/U 231.5

Paolo Banchero may be Italian-American, but he stole the show in Berlin, Germany two days ago. 37 minutes, 26 points, 13 rebounds, 4 threes made, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Luckily the first best bet of today does not require stuffing the stat sheet to be successful. Heck, it doesn’t even have to be double-digits to be successful.

The best bet of the “tea time” game in London is Banchero over 8.5 rebounds. The Memphis Grizzlies did not have an answer for Banchero, who led the charge in a come-from-behind effort to win two days ago. He’s one of the best young players in the Association, and he will be able to take advantage of the weak front-court of the Grizzlies.

Banchero is averaging 8.8 rebounds per game this season, and has been rebounding well lately. He has recorded 10 or more rebounds in six of his last ten games. The Grizzlies allow an average of 45.0 rebounds per game to opposing teams. Put a unit on Banchero to deliver with 9 or more rebounds in the second international game in as many days.

Charlotte Hornets vs Denver Nuggets: Sunday 1/18

Game Time: 8:00 PM ET | TV: NBA League Pass | Location: Ball Arena | Odds: DEN -1.5 | O/U 231.5

The Denver Nuggets host the Charlotte Hornets who people are putting much too much value on. That value comes from a dominant performance from over the Los Angeles Lakers. However the Lakers were just embarrassed by the Portland Trail Blazers without Deni Avdija. Los Angeles has lost six of their last ten games, and the Hornets are not bolstered by beating a bad team.

Now the Hornets have to leave the west coast, and travel to the “Mile High City”. The Hornets have won just 15 games this season, have a 8 - 15 road record, have lost six of their last ten games, yet somehow enter this game with almost even odds against Denver. The Nuggets have won 29 games, are on a four-game win streak, are 12 - 6 at home, and have won seven of their last ten games.

Something isn’t adding up, and perhaps it's the expectation of the Nuggets to rest players on the second of back-to-back games. However, the Charlotte Hornets are playing in the second of back-to-back games, and they had to travel from San Francisco after a 136 - 116 loss. They lose an hour from traveling east, and are playing at one of the toughest places to play in the Association, Ball Arena. Put the rare “nickel” bet on the Nuggets to cover a ridiculously low spread on their home court.

NBA Prop Bet Today, 1/18

This player proposition was once considered a mainstay on Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bet. However, this is either the first or second time it has been mentioned this season. Nikola Vucevic is a cornerstone for the bankroll we have built over the past three seasons. Sometimes that neglected corner of our magnificent betting hall needs some attention.

Today is that day. The Chicago Bulls are hosting the Brooklyn Nets who have lost eight of their last ten games. The Nets are rotating players in-and-out of their frontcourt trying to find something that will work. However they do not have a forward or center that has elite perimeter defense.

This is why Vucevic has an opportunity to make two threes today. He has made two or more threes in five of his last nine games, and he will be hanging out in the corner pocket, waiting for a pass from Coby White or one of his Chicago teammates. Put a unit on the “cornerstone” to be reliable as ever.
