The San Antonio Spurs finished the first half against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a 53 - 56 deficit. In the second half, the Spurs began a comeback, but that was squashed in a dominant win for the Thunder. The final score was 119 - 98, and it was clear how badly the Thunder wanted this game.

The Portland Trail Blazers and the Golden State Warriors had an extremely lopsided first half. The Warriors were up almost thirty points, and a comeback was hopeless. So was covering the +9.5 spread as the Warriors coasted to an easy victory, even resting their starters in the fourth quarter.

Royce O’Neale and the Phoenix Suns started out slowly against the Miami Heat. However, they stormed back in the third quarter. O’Neale had a slow start and managed just two rebounds in the first half. He ended with four rebounds, and the Heat won the game 127 - 121.

There are seven games in the Association today, and there are a few teams that are on a roll. Two games are nationally televised on ESPN, including a thriller to begin the doubleheader. It also features the first best bet of today.

NBA Best Bets Today, 1/14: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Wednesday

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Philadelphia 76ers: Wednesday 1/14

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET | TV: ESPN | Location: Xfinity Mobile Arena | Odds: PHI -1.0 | O/U 238.5

The Philadelphia 76ers are turning their season around. They won their most recent match, have won six of their last ten, and are climbing up the Eastern Conference rankings. They are currently only 2.5 games back from second place in the Eastern Conference. Joel Embiid looks as good as he has since his MVP season and is back to being a force on the court.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are not the team they were last year. They are injured, and that is part of it, but the energy and intensity is not at the level it was last season. They were atop the Eastern Conference, and this year they are currently seventh. They are only 2.5 games ahead of tenth place, have lost five of their last ten games, including their most recent. The Cavaliers also have a losing record on the road.

It is a strength-on-strength match that is expected to have several points. However, the best bet is on Philadelphia to cover the ridiculously low spread of -1.0. Tyrese Maxey does not have an injury designation and will be the biggest offensive threat on the court. However, Joel Embiid, Paul George, and VJ Edgecombe are all listed as probable, and together are a fearsome foursome. Put a unit on the best bet of the 76ers to cover a -1.0 spread.

Washington Wizards vs Los Angeles Clippers: Wednesday 1/14

Game Time: 10:30 PM ET | TV: NBA League Pass | Location: Intuit Dome | Odds: LAC -11.5 | O/U 224.5

The Los Angeles Clippers continue hosting Eastern Conference teams, and today will be their fifth consecutive game against the East. That is part of the reason their record has improved, and they are heavy favorites against the Washington Wizards today.

The Wizards are the worst rebounding team in the Association, and have the second-worst record in the Association. They gave up two players who were playing meaningful minutes in a trade for Trae Young, who has yet to play for Washington. It appears they are headed for another rebuild after this season. The Clippers can keep climbing up the Western Conference with a win. They are only 1.0 games back from tenth place, and 2.5 games back from ninth.

These teams each average 112 points per game, and the expectation is for them to score right around their average. Or at least that is what the sportsbooks have projected. However, the best bet is for the total to be under 224.5 points. Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac are listed as questionable and could miss this match. Bogdan Bogdanovic is out, and the Clippers could be playing this game short-handed. Washington is in a great state of flux, and it is limiting their offense. Put a unit on the best bet of under 224.5 points in the late game today.

NBA Prop Bet Today, 1/14

Michael Porter Jr. was at the Smoothie King Center last night watching former teammates on both the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans. He sat courtside and dapped up his teammates in what was a thrilling game. Porter Jr. is a genuine person, and probably wanted to see his former teammates and friends. But perhaps he was doing some live scouting as well, as the Brooklyn Nets play the Pelicans today.

Porter Jr. has been a bankroll builder for Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets. He has been profitable on his point line, and we are back to betting on the over on his point proposition. His point line is set at 26.5, and the expectation is for him to go over it. He’s averaging 25.9 points per game and has scored 27 points or more in six of his last seven matches.

The New Orleans Pelicans allow 122.4 points per game, which is the third most in the Association. They are playing on the second of back-to-back games, and Brooklyn is showcasing Porter Jr. for a trade. Expect him to cover his point proposition against the worst team in the NBA. Put a unit on this best bet today.
