Jamal Murray was a last second scratch in the game against the Atlanta Hawks. Thus, his proposition was voided. The Brooklyn Nets were held in check by the Los Angeles Clippers, and Michael Porter was unable to score enough points to cover his point proposition. In fact he was 7.5 points away from the line all together, and wasn’t the team’s leading scorer.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are reeling, as they continue their downward spiral. They are similar to a heavyweight champion that dominates the first round, even scoring knockouts. They seem unprepared for the contender(s) to bounce back, much less knock them down. But they are being challenged by teams that will not even be in the play-in much less championship playoffs. However, they keep squeaking by less-than-average teams while not covering the spread.

There are six NBA games today, one of which is nationally televised. It begins a busy day of sports for Amazon Prime, and it includes our first best bet for today. NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 1/10

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Cleveland Cavaliers: Saturday, 1/10

Game Time: 1:00 PM ET | TV: Amazon Prime Video | Location: Rocket Arena | Odds: CLE -3.5 | O/U 238.5

Prediction: Total Over 239.5 Points (-108 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Cleveland Cavaliers host the Minnesota Timberwolves at Rocket Arena in what should be a high-scoring game. These two played each other just two days ago at the Target Center and the final score was 131-122. A 253-point total, and Timberwolves victory, in an emotional day in Minneapolis.

The matchup today in Cleveland has a projected total of 239.5 points, and the expectation is for them to go over the total once again. These teams, both once known for their defense with multiple defensive players of the year, have committed to an offensive strategy. The Cavaliers are averaging 119.3 points per game, while Minnesota averages 119.9 points per game. Their season average is just above the projected total of the match.

Donovan Mitchell and Anthony Edwards are attempting to solidify their all-star position, which they should earn. They have been excellent during the second-third stretch of the season. They are essentially matchup proof and should lead their respective team in scoring. Pair that with offenses that play with tempo, and the over is the best bet of this match. Put a unit on the total to go over 239.5 points.

Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers: Saturday, 1/10

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET | TV: NBA League Pass | Location: Gainbridge Fieldhouse | Odds: MIA -7.5 | O/U 236.5

Prediction: Miami Heat -7.5 (-110 on BetMGM Sportsbook)

The Indiana Pacers host the Miami Heat at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in an Eastern Conference matchup. The Pacers have the worst record in the Association, and Miami is currently sixth in the East. Miami has struggled on the road recently, and they have a 7-11 road record this season. However, as mentioned, the Pacers are the worst team in the Association.

Miami is also well rested after their game against Chicago was canceled due to condensation on the court. They should be ready to roll offensively against a team they are much better then. Miami is averaging 120.1 points and Indiana is averaging 110.8. The Pacers also have a -8.7 point differential this season.

The Heat are in a three-way tie for sixth in the conference, and must win the games they are supposed to or slip far down the rankings. Expect head coach Erik Spoelstra to have his team mentally focused, and to come out fast. Put a unit on the Miami Heat to cover the -7.5 spread on the road against the Pacers.

NBA Prop Bet Today, 1/10

San Antonio Spurs Moneyline (-105 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

There has been a total best bet, a spread best bet, and now it’s time for a moneyline best bet. The Boston Celtics host the San Antonio Spurs in a match that is Saturday night fever. It is an 8:00 PM local tip-off and should be a thrilling matchup between elite teams. It’s the NBA’s first dynasty versus the NBA’s 21st century’s dynasty.

Boston is tied for second in the Eastern Conference, while San Antonio is second in the Western Conference. The Celtics are 12-6 at home, and the Spurs are 12-6 on the road. This game is split amongst sportsbooks, and the odds could move up until game time. The expectation is for San Antonio to keep playing tough front court defense, and Victor Wembanyama to shut down Jaylen Brown.

This will force others to step up their game, and Boston doesn’t have a consistent scorer to rely on. Meanwhile De’Aaron Fox could be a team leading point scorer on several NBA franchises, and he will have several scoring opportunities with his speed. Put a unit on the San Antonio Spurs to pick up the road victory. Trust the best bet of the moneyline.
