Another MLB DFS week will be in the books shortly as we get ready for Sunday baseball. We have some big slates today as DraftKings will carry ten games, FanDuel will offer a dozen (Coors and the Yankees/White Sox) and Yahoo! has all 13 games on their slate (including Sunday Night Baseball). Shane Bieber and Freddy Peralta lead the pitching today and you will want a piece of some big bats in smash spots like José Ramírez and Wander Franco. How will you get all these stars in your lineup? You will need to find some value. Those sneaky, low-owned, or top point per dollar minimum priced plays. Our job here at DFS Alarm is to dig through the data and locate those plays for you so hopefully, you end up with a winning lineup at the end of the day. Be sure to also check our MLB Lineups page that includes the Weather Center. Without further ado, let’s open the MLB DFS Value Vault for Sunday, May 22nd.

PITCHING

Brady Singer (KC) $4.9K DK/$5.8K FD/$33 Yahoo

Brady Singer was called up from Triple-A Omaha to pitch in Game Two of Tuesday night’s doubleheader against the White Sox and he sure did impress by striking out a career-high nine batters, allowing just four hits, no walks, and no runs in seven innings. That outing earned the righty another start, and he was called up again to face the Twins today. If Singer can pound the zone as he did on Tuesday (70 of 93 pitches were strikes) then he will be a huge bargain on all sites. The wind will be blowing in today at Kauffman Stadium and the Twins strike out at a rate of 23.2% against RHP’s. Tourney play only but it will not require much for Singer to make value.

Yusei Kikuchi (TOR) $6.9K DK/$31 Yahoo

Pete Walker deserves a raise. The Blue Jays pitching coach is gaining a reputation as a career savior after turning around Robbie Ray and now Yusei Kikuchi. Kikuchi is coming off his best start as a Blue Jay as he threw six shutout innings, allowed just one hit, and struck out six against his former team last week. He has now turned in three really good starts with two being against the Yankees. Today he has one of the best matchups on the board against a Reds offense that Alek Manoah hardly broke a sweat against yesterday. Kikuchi makes for a fine value cash SP2 on DraftKings or a tourney play on all sites today.

HITTERS

Adley Rutschman (BAL) $2.0K DK/$2.4K FD/$17 Yahoo

The number one prospect in all of baseball finally made his MLB debut yesterday and proceeded to go 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk. Rutschman wasn’t even in the DK player pool last night, but he is today at the bare minimum price. I assume that he will be rostered in plenty of lineups, but just take the free square and lock in the young stud who was slashing .309/.427/.515 in the minor leagues this year.

Chas McCormick (HOU) $3.1K DK/$2.9K FD/$14 Yahoo

Chas McCormick will be a sneaky low-owned play today, especially if he hits near the bottom of the order. He plays against left-handed pitching and will face Taylor Hearn who has struggled out of the gate allowing a .366 wOBA and 60% hard contact to right-handed bats. McCormick has a .219 ISO with 49.3% hard contact against southpaws going back to last season. He should be getting on base more but is still showing power with a platoon slash of .294/.351/.471 with .822 OPS.

Kevin Kiermaier (TB) $2.9K DK/$2.3K FD/$14

Kevin Kiermaier is red-hot and will be locked into my cash lineups today. His recent hitting has earned him a spot as the Rays leadoff hitter against right-handed pitching and he has one of the best matchups on the board today against Spenser Watkins and the Orioles bullpen. Kiermaier is hitting .560 over the last week and now has three straight three-hit games which include last night’s 3-for-4 performance and a 410-foot bomb. Watkins is allowing a crazy high .326 ISO/.429 wOBA and 49.4% hard contact to right-handed bats so if Kiermaier is on top of the Rays order do not hesitate to play him in all formats.

Randy Arozarena (TB) $2.7K FD/$16

Randy Arozarena is $2,700 on FD? Is this a joke? The Rays slugger is coming off a multi-home run game against the Orioles and now has five multi-hit games in the month of May. In this weekend series, Arozarena is 6-for-8 with two home runs, five RBI, and three runs scored and he still has one more game left today. He faces Spenser Watkins in the series finale and Watkins is getting hit around by both sides of the plate. He has a 6.27 xFIP and is not missing any bats as evidenced by his lowly 12.5% strikeout rate. Right-handed bats have a .343 wOBA and 43.3% hard contact rate going back to last season. If playing FanDuel and Yahoo, Arozarena is a must in your lineups and even though he is $4,600 on DraftKings he is in play on that site also.
