We have a 12-game MLB DFS main slate on Friday, May 26th, on DraftKings and FanDuel. We have so much elite talent to pick from including expensive options at Coors Field like Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor, so sifting through the value is necessary here. Be sure to check out all of our tools including the MLB Lineups page, MLB DFS Projections – powered by FanJections –, MLB DFS Ownership, and all of the rest of our tools HERE! Let’s dive into our favorite daily fantasy baseball value plays of the day.

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Reid Detmers, Los Angeles Angels

The one thing that has changed on the Reid Detmers front this year is that he’s missing bats and he’s missing them at a HIGH clip. He has an 11.73 K/9 and a 29.8% K-rate this season and how he’ll be able to neutralize Miami is between the strikeouts and the .89 HR/9 he’s allowed. If he can limit the damage Jorge Soler and Garrett Cooper do, then you can have a successful outing. Detmers and the Angels are solid -145 favorites on the money line here.

Matthew Liberatore, St. Louis Cardinals

Attacking the Guardians this year has been a very fruitful approach this season and we’re going to take advantage of it here. Liberatore looked very good in his only start this year and let’s not lose sight of his prospect ranking just because he struggled a bit last year. The Guardians are 29th in wOBA and OPS against left-handed pitching while ranking dead last in ISO. The only downside is the lack of strikeouts but at $7,100 on DraftKings is solid. He could be one of the better values of the day if the Cardinals can score him enough runs.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Jarren Duran, Boston Red Sox

Although Duran has struggled of late, he makes for a very good play against a pitcher struggling against his split. Duran, despite those struggles, still is batting .300 on the year and has a .220 ISO and .387 wOBA against right-handed pitching. Against left-handed swingers, Brandon Pfaadt has allowed a .421 wOBA and .286 ISO. Who knows on a daily basis where Duran is going to bat in the Red Sox lineup, but we’ve seen him hit fifth a lot against righties and that’s ideal.

Brett Baty, New York Mets

I like most of the Mets today, which shouldn’t be any surprise considering they’re in Coors Field, but Baty continues to hit in the middle of the lineup and gets a plus match-up against Connor Seabold. Baty has slowed down after a hot stretch but it’s been largely due to bad luck. He has a .240 AVG with a .284 xAVG, .394 SLG, and .488 xSLG, and a .313 wOBA with a .367 xwOBA. Seabold’s allowed lefties to post a .373 wOBA and .206 wOBA on the year. I love this spot for Baty and the Mets. He’s too cheap.

Rougned Odor, San Diego Padres

I’m almost sorry I’m suggesting this play, but sometimes it’s about what have you done for us lately and Odor has been awesome, as crazy as that sounds in the year 2023. He’s slashing .385/.448/.731 with two home runs, 11 runs batted in, and a stolen base. All 11 RBI have been over the past four games and now he gets to face a prospect making his debut in Yankee Stadium, a place he’s familiar with. Randy Vasquez, the aforementioned prospect, has a 4.85 ERA at Triple-A this year. I’d only suggest Odor in GPPs.

Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels

Despite the fact that Neto is hitting near the bottom of the Angels lineup, like, all the way at the bottom, as far down as he can possibly hit, he’s a good play. He’s hit lefties extremely well with a .273 ISO and .415 wOBA this year and faces Jesus Luzardo who’s allowed a .358 wOBA and .227 ISO against righties. Neto is hitting .313 over his last 10 games and has hits in six of seven. He’s only $200 off the minimum salary on DraftKings.
