Happy Monday! Let’s start the week off strong with some winning MLB DFS lineups. Today there is a 7-game main slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel kicking off at 6:40 PM EST. Aaron Nola highlights the pitching today, but Nola has been far from great this season. There are several cheap pitchers today that I love that have some fantastic matchups for today that should be easy to build around as they are going far too cheap. There are plenty of offenses to choose from with a lot of lower-end pitchers on the mound today. My favorite offenses to target on the slate are the Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Texas Rangers. Plenty of great ways to build a winning lineup today, so let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Braxton Garrett, Miami Marlins

Braxton Garrett is probably my favorite pitcher on the slate, even considering he costs a bit more than the other value plays. He is still relatively cheap and has been pitching great lately. In his last 4 starts, he has 26 strikeouts through 21.2 innings while only giving up 4 earned runs. He gets a good matchup today against the Kansas City Royals and should be able to provide another low-scoring game in Miami while adding a good number of strikeouts.

Johan Oviedo, Pittsburgh Pirates

Johan Oviedo has been pitching solidly for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In his last 4 starts, he has only given up 1 earned run in 3 and gave up 3 in the other. He also has at least 5 strikeouts in 3 of the starts getting up to 7 in his start against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now he gets to face Oakland, which will give him a chance to really put together a good start if he continues to pitch well. The matchup alone is too good to overlook when you can get him for this cheap.

Mike Mayers, Kansas City Royals

Mike Mayers has looked fantastic in his first 13.1 innings, striking out 14 and only giving up 1 run. He struck out 8 against the Detroit Tigers and then went 6 innings against the St. Louis Cardinals, only giving up 2 hits and getting the win. He will be the follower today, which should set him up great against the Miami Marlins to hopefully go another strong 6 innings and get the win and rack up some strikeouts along the way.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Brandon Belt, 1B Toronto Blue Jays

Brandon Belt has silently been hitting great for the Toronto Blue Jays. Since May 1st, he has slashed .329/.469/.513 and carrying a 179 wRC+. He has been batting cleanup for the Blue Jays, which is a great spot in a strong lineup. He hit a home run yesterday and is in a great spot against Brandon Bielak to keep up the hitting today and he is insanely cheap coming in, not much more than the minimum salary.

Rodolfo Castro, 2B Pittsburgh Pirates

I will quit putting Rodolfo Castro in my articles as soon as DraftKings and FanDuel quit disrespecting him with these prices when he is facing a left-handed hitter. If you haven’t caught on yet, he is incredibly good against left-handed pitching, and that is putting it lightly. Don’t overcomplicate it; if you see he is facing a lefty and he continues to be this cheap, just say thank you and put him in your lineup.

Ke’Bryan Hayes, 3B Pittsburgh Pirates

Ke’Bryan Hayes is on a bit of a tear right now. In his last 4 games, he has 9 hits, including 2 home runs, a triple, and a double. Getting a decent matchup against JP Sears and the Oakland Athletics today, he should be able to keep up this streak and hopefully add another home run. He has had a fairly disappointing season, but hopefully, this is the start of him turning things around, and if not, I am still willing to ride the hot streak while it lasts.

Matt McLain, SS Cincinnati Reds

Matt McLian has been impressive since being called up on May 15th. Since coming up, he has only gone hitless in 3 of his 18 games and has had 9 multi-hit games. He has a .921 OPS so far and is batting 2nd every day and getting to play in a great hitter’s park. Teheran has only given up 1 run so far in his first 11 innings of work. Still, he didn’t get a single strikeout in his last outing against Toronto and the Reds should be able to put runs up against him today in Cincinnati, which should make McLain a great play at SS for his price.
