Get ready for some Wednesday baseball! There is some great daytime baseball to get you through the day as we get ready for the 6-game main slate starting at 7:05 PM EST on DraftKings and 6:40 PM EST on FanDuel. The only difference in the slates is that DraftKings has the second Cincinnati Reds vs Los Angeles Angels game, whereas  FanDuel has the Colorado Rockies vs Tampa Bay Rays game instead. Kevin Gausman and Clayton Kershaw highlight today’s main slate at the top end. Clayton Kershaw is my favorite of the top pitchers, as he should have no issue cruising through the Cleveland Guardians. The pitching options get rough pretty fast after that, but there are still a few great value pitchers to choose from today on the small slate. There are some great hitters to target today as well on both the top end and for some value options. Some of my favorite offenses to target include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Nationals, Los Angeles Angels, Atlanta Braves, and New York Yankees. There are plenty of different ways to go about building a winning MLB DFS lineup today, so let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Chris Sale, Boston Red Sox (DraftKings: $8,500 / FanDuel: $9,300)

This is a pretty risky play of Chris Sale. His velocity has been down, he is having to face a food Houston Astros lineup, and he has only thrown 58 and 65 pitches in his last two starts. However, he provides upside that you can’t get from a lot of the other pitchers today, who also come with plenty of risk themselves, so I am taking the chance that we see a jump up from Sale today and we see the strikeouts come back to what they were before his injury.

Reid Detmers, Los Angeles Angels (DraftKings: $7,600)

Reid Detmers bounced back in a big way after two terrible outings against the Seattle Mariners and Houston Astros. He threw 7.1 innings of 1 hit ball against the Texas Rangers with 5 strikeouts. I am ready to jump right back in after that start and think he can handle the young (albeit talented) Cincinnati Reds team in game 2 of the doubleheader today.

Aaron Civale, Tampa Bay Rays (FanDuel: $9,700)

Aaron Civale has been pitching great for a while now and hasn’t slowed down much getting settled in with his new team since the trade deadline. He has a 2.44 ERA this season with a 1.12 WHIP, and while the strikeouts aren’t super impressive, we still have seen some high strikeout games, so maybe he can get quite a few today getting to face the Colorado Rockies outside of Coors.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Brandon Belt, 1B Toronto Blue Jays (DraftKings: $3,500 / FanDuel: $2,900)

Brandon Belt has 3 homers in his last two games. Beyond that, he has slashed .321/.441/.714 in August and is getting to bat 2nd or 3rd almost every time he is in the lineup. He should easily keep up this strong month and hopefully keep up this home run barrage today, getting to face Jack Flaherty

Pablo Reyes, 2B/SS Boston Red Sox (DraftKings: $3,200 / FanDuel: $2,300)

Pablo Reyes has stepped up in a big way for the Boston Red Sox recently. He is a defensive first player but has been getting it done at the plate lately. Over his last 14 games, he has slashed .365/.389/.558 and has 7 multi-hit games, with 3 of them being 3-hit games. After getting the day off yesterday, I would bet he is back in the infield today and gets a relatively easy matchup getting to face Jose Urquidy

Noelvi Marte, 3B Cincinnati Reds (DraftKings: $2,500)

Noelvi Marte hasn’t done anything too crazy yet 3 games in, but still has himself a double and 2 stolen bases already. I still think this is a low price for a kid who is an excellent hitter and should be able to start showing flashes of his bat soon. If you aren’t going with Reid Detmers today in your DraftKings lineup, the price of Marte is too low for me to take a chance on with his talent at third base.

Stone Garrett, OF Washington Nationals (DraftKings: $3,700 / FanDuel: $2,600)

Stone Garrett is hitless in his last two games, but before that, he had a stretch of 8 games where he piled up 14 hits, including 5 doubles and two homers. Today, facing Luis Severino, will be a great spot for him to bounce back from the last two games and pile up some hits again as Severino continues to struggle to limit runs and has been giving up tons of homers with a 3.41 HR/9 since July 1st
