Tonight’s MLB DFS coverage is for the medium 8-game main slate that starts at 7:05 pm ET on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Starting pitching is headlined by Gerrit Cole and Kodai Senga. We do not have Coors Field on the slate, so you don’t have to keep that in mind when setting lineups. Freddie Freeman and Aaron Judge are the most expensive hitters on both sites today. Henry is on the playbook today, make sure to give that a read, and don’t forget to check out the MLB Lineups page, Vegas Odds, and all of our MLB DFS Tools. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day and some we can fit into our cash and tournament lineups!

MLB DFS Value Pitcher

Slade Cecconi, Arizona Diamondbacks (DraftKings: $6,500)

Cecconi is a former first round pick and making his MLB debut tonight against the Giants. If you look at his AAA numbers this year, you’ll see an ugly 6.38 ERA, but that’s in the hitter-friendly PCL, so it doesn’t mean everything. I like the fact that he has 104 Ks across 103 innings. He is cheap and he is worth a GPP shot at this price tag. The Giants haven’t scored more than 4 runs in any of their past 5 games and are averaging just 3.2 runs per game in that span.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Mark Vientos, 1B/3B, New York Mets (DraftKings: $2,000 / FanDuel: $2,300)

Vientos has looked a lot better thus far in his second stint with the Mets, hitting .280 with a home run, two doubles, and four RBI through 25 at-bats (6 starts). He had more success against lefties in his time in the minors and today he faces a lefty in Cole Ragans, who has been hurt slightly more by righties (.763 OPS) in his career than lefties (.731 OPS). Righties have accounted for 9 of the 10 home runs Ragans has given up in the bigs.

Jordan Westburg, 2B/3B, Baltimore Orioles (DraftKings: $2,900 / FanDuel: $2,600)

Westburg has been solid lately, hitting .269 with a home run and two steals over his last 10 games. The biggest issues for him from a DFS perspective is the lacking RBI and R totals as he has just 6 total R/RBI in that span. He has been MUCH better on the road thus far with a .921 OPS across 12 road games, compared to a .588 OPS across 13 home games. He has the righty/lefty advantage on Yuusei Kikuchi tonight, who we know is prone to the long ball.

James Outman, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers (DraftKings: $3,400 / FanDuel: $2,900)

Outman has been a popular play for me lately and he just keeps producing as he is hitting .296 with a home run and a pair of steals over his last 10 games. He has 12 home runs and 12 steals on the year with 99 total R/RBI across 99 games. He has been better at home than he has been on the road and he has had no problems with lefties this season. He faces a very bad lefty tonight in Hogan Harris, who has a 6.07 ERA and 1.35 WHIP this season across 56.1 innings.
