Happy Monday full of baseball! There is one day game today (assuming it is only delayed and doesn’t get postponed) where you can watch Ohtani pitch as you prepare for tonight’s main slate of games, which is a 9-game slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:10 EST. There are a lot of great pitchers on the mound today, with Jacob deGrom, Kevin Gausman, Corbin Burnes, Zack Wheeler, and Christian Javier taking the mound. We also get Coors again today, with the Pittsburgh Pirates headed to Denver to face the Colorado Rockies. There are also some great matchups for hitters, with the Braves and Rangers being my favorite offenses of the day to target outside of Coors. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Corbin Burnes, Milwaukee Brewers (DraftKings: $8,800 / FanDuel: $10,000)

After a relatively slow start for Corbin Burnes, he had a great game against the Arizona Diamondbacks in his last turn in the rotation. He went 8 innings with 8 strikeouts and only 3 hits and 0 earned runs. Corbin Burnes is one of the best pitchers in baseball still and he is a value play anytime he is not priced with the top pitchers of the day. Today he gets to face the Seattle Mariners in Seattle, which was the most pitcher-friendly park last year. Seattle’s offense has a 24.1 K% and is only slashing .232/.310/.380, and I think Burnes can put another great start here in Seattle.

Jack Flaherty, St. Louis Cardinals (DraftKings: $7,800 / FanDuel: $8,300)

On Saturday, I highlighted Steven Matz as a value play and said, “Steven Matz didn’t survive Coors in his last start, but who does?” Well, his teammate Jack Flaherty maybe didn’t thrive there, but I would say he survived. He went 5.1 IP with 6 strikeouts, 5 hits, 1 BB, and 1 ER. Flaherty has had a jump in fastball velocity in his last two starts and getting swinging strikes from his slider, which he is throwing almost half the time. While it has been a while, we saw Flaherty put up back-to-back fabulous seasons at age 22 and 23. He is still only 27 years old, and I think I am bought in on Flaherty returning as a legit starting pitcher. Facing the Arizona Diamondbacks today, I trust Flaherty as a great value play if you don’t want to spend for the top pitching today.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Sean Murphy, C Atlanta Braves     (DraftKings: $4,400 / FanDuel: $3,400)

Sean Murphy has come alive in the last two series for the Braves. With Travis d’Arnaud out, he has been batting fourth in the lineup every day and is batting .391 with 3 homeruns in the last 6 games. Today Atlanta gets to face Ryan Weathers in San Diego in what should be a good matchup for their offense and Sean Murphy. While I also like the Elias Diaz play in Colorado against Rich Hill, I think paying up for the much better batter here in Sean Murphy is one of your best chances to get value from the Catcher spot today.

Nathaniel Lowe, 1B Texas Rangers (DraftKings: $4,400 / FanDuel: $3,300)

I love the Ranger's offense today against Jordan Lyles. Nathaniel Lowe batting third in the lineup in this matchup feels like a steal. Lowe has an .858 OPS against righties this season and I don’t trust Jordan Lyles at all. The one downside with Lowe is the home run upside is not super high as a left-hander in Kauffman, but he doesn’t need a home run to return value here and I still wouldn’t be surprised if Lowe can put one out against Lyles today.

Ke'Bryan Hayes, 3B Pittsburgh Pirates (DraftKings: $3,800 / FanDuel: $2,900)

Ke'Bryan Hayes has been off to a painfully slow start in Pittsburgh, but I think he is finally turning it around. In the last three games, he has 4 hits, including a double, a triple, and a home run, and now he gets Coors. While Kyle Freeland has proven he can put up good starts in Coors, he isn’t going to every time. I am still happy to target him in Coors and especially when someone who can crush lefties as well as Hayes and is as cheap as he is today.

Vaughn Grissom, SS Atlanta Braves (DraftKings: $3,100 / FanDuel: $2,800)

It looked like Vaughn Grissom was going to get to start the year in the big leagues with the Braves, but that didn’t happen. With some Braves injuries, though, it didn’t take long for him to be called up. I was in on Grissom in all fantasy formats to start the year, thinking he would be on the roster, and I am back in again now that he has been called up. Grissom can hit and I think even though he came up because of injury I am guessing the Braves will have a hard time sending him back down. He has already recorded a hit in all his first three games, and I wouldn’t bet on that coming to an end today against Ryan Weathers. Grissom is a great hitter, and for as long as he is up, in the lineup, and still this cheap, he will be a great value play at SS.

Garrett Mitchell, OF Milwaukee Brewers (DraftKings: $3,000 / FanDuel: $3,000)

I love the Mariner’s pitching this year, but that doesn’t extend to Chris Flexen. I really like the Brewer's lefty-heavy lineup against him today, and Mitchell is the biggest part of that value play at his price. He finally got his first stolen base yesterday, and with his speed, that should be the first of many in his career. Hitting in the middle of that Brewers lineup with his power and speed potential, I think he is a great play here against a pitcher that should get beat up by this lineup.
