Without further ado, let's dive into the top MLB player picks on Underdog Fantasy for Saturday, September 23rd.

Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City Royals - HIGHER than 8 Fantasy Points

There are going to be some runs put up on the board in this game, both from Houston and Kansas City. Houston’s J.P. France has surrendered an 8.87 ERA and 2.70 HR/9 over his last five starts, and if you remove his 10 earned run outing against Boston, he’s still allowed a 5.57 ERA and 2.14 HR/9 over the last couple of weeks. Right-handed hitters have a .279/.336/.468 slash line against him, not to mention a 1.61 HR/9 and 35.2 percent hard hit rate. Witt Jr. has a .212 ISO and .271 average against right-handed pitching this season, and he’s been a fantasy points machine over his last 11 games, hitting .372 with one home run, two doubles, one triple, 12 runs scored, seven RBI, and nine stolen bases! He has a .418 SLG against right-handed pitching in the month of September, and he can rack up fantasy points via multiple different avenues, which is why Witt Jr. is always in play when his line is around this number.

Ke’Bryan Hayes, Pittsburgh Pirates - HIGHER than 1.5 Total Bases

Hayes has been excellent of late posting four-straight multi-hit games, and having multiple hits in six of his last seven! He’s slashing .329/.357/.595 in the month of September, recording 12 extra-base hits. While he’s hit right-handed pitching at a .273 clip this season as whole, across 56 plate appearances here in September, he’s hit right-handers at a .358 clip, not to mention a .623 SLG, .998 OPS, and .264 ISO! If you like team splits, Hayes has a .244 ISO against Cincinnati pitching this year. His opponent on the mound today is Connor Phillips, a 22-year-old righty who has allowed a 5.74 ERA on the year and a 2.87 HR/9 across three starts. He’s displayed some reverse splits of late, as right-handed hitters have posted a .633 SlG and .386 wOBA against him this year, including a massive 4.91 HR/9, albeit a very small sample size. At the end of the day, we are going to trust the hot bat, in hopes of an extra-base hit or yet another multi-hit game for the ascending third baseman.
