Luis Robert Underdog MLB Pick: Higher Than 7.5 Fantasy Points

White Sox outfielder Luis Robert has five homers in the nine games since returning from the injured list. Today he has a fantastic matchup against Diamondbacks right-handed pitcher Ryne Nelson who is allowing righties to hit .406 with a .624 slugging percentage and a .462 wOBA against him this season.

With Robert in the middle of an elite power run, he can finish with more than 7.5 fantasy points with just one swing of the bat.

Matt Waldron Underdog MLB Pick: Higher Than 27.5 Fantasy Points

This is definitely one of those projections that seems a bit suspicious. Waldron has finished with more than 27.5 fantasy points in each of his last six starts. Overall, his numbers do not suggest much of any regression as the knuckleballer has limited opponents this season to a .239 average and a .296 wOBA while owning a 3.76 ERA, 3.31 xERA and 3.26 FIP.

Today he faces a Mets team that ranks in the middle of the pack against right-handed pitching, but even those numbers can’t fully be applied here given that they haven’t faced a knuckleballer. I’m willing to say the hot run keeps going for Waldron here tonight.

 

 

 

Chris Sale Underdog MLB Pick: Higher Than 7.5 Strikeouts

Our first “scorcher” play of the day comes with Chris Sale in his matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays. Sale has finished with at least eight strikeouts in six of his last seven starts which includes two games of 10 strikeouts.

The Rays have the fourth-highest strikeout rate this season against left-handed pitching at 25.3%. This is a perfect matchup to take advantage of the boosted odds.

Hunter Brown Underdog MLB Pick: Higher Than 6.5 Strikeouts

Our second “scorcher” play here features the Astros young righty Hunter Brown. After a disastrous month of April which saw Brown pitch to a 9.78 ERA over his first six starts, things have really turned around with Brown posting a 3.05 ERA over his last seven appearances.

Today we are looking at his boosted strikeout projection set at 6.5. Brown has finished with at least seven strikeouts in each of his last three outings, which included a nine-strikeout performance against the Mariners. Today he faces the Detroit Tigers who have the seventh-highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season.
