Today is a great day for some MLB player props, especially when looking at hitters because our good friend Patrick Corbin is pitching for the Nationals! Manny Machado has good BvP numbers against him for his career, and Machado has been as good as ever of late. Are we really that surprised that my favorite MLB player prop and best bet of the day involves a hitter that is facing Patrick Corbin? It shouldn’t be! Secondly, we’ll look to Christian Walker, who has the fifth-highest OPS amongst qualified hitters over the last 15 calendar days. If you want to add more MLB player props to increase your multiplier on Underdog Fantasy, check out our Vegas odds report and daily projections to find more MLB lines you can exploit. Here are my favorite player props over at Underdog Fantasy for Sunday, August 21.

Manny Machado OVER 1.5 Total Bases

Machado has hit .294 in his home park this season and while his batting average against southpaws may not look overly impressive, he still has a .487 SLG against lefties this season. However, this lefty is one he is familiar with, and in his career, he’s 6-for-15 with a home run against Patrick Corbin. Corbin’s struggles this year are well documented, as he’s allowed right-handed hitters to hit .324 with a .394 wOBA against him, not to mention the fact that he has a 9.44 ERA on the road. Machado is hitting .370 with a .593 SLG over his last seven games, and he has at least two total bases in 10 of his last 11 games.

Christian Walker OVER 6.5 Fantasy Points

Walker has a .923 OPS versus left-handers this season, and over his last seven contests, he has an insane 1.252 OPS! Sure, he’s gone hitless in his last two contests, but he hit safely in the five contests before that, and in just those five games, he hit .474 with three home runs, six RBI, and six runs scored. José Quintana has been solid for the Cardinals in three starts, but for the year, he’s fared better in his home park compared to being out on the road. For what it’s worth, over his last three starts, two of which were with Pittsburgh, he’s allowed 12 earned runs on 20 hits over just 15.1 innings of work. I’m trusting Walker’s hot bat here this afternoon.

Other Leans:

  • Luis Castillo OVER 7.0 Strikeouts (7+ Ks in six straight, 8+ in six of last eight)
  • Mike Trout OVER 7.5 Fantasy Points (1.006 OPS vs LHP)
