MLB Player Props Underdog Fantasy August 15

Carlos Carrasco OVER 5.5 Strikeouts

Cookie Carrasco has struck out at least six batters in four of his previous five starts and one of those was a six-strikeout game against this same Braves offense less than two weeks ago. Carrasco also has four wins over his last five outings with a 1.44 ERA during that span. Tonight is a key start as the New York Mets try to extend their NL East lead over the second-place Atlanta Braves.  Over the last 15 days, the Braves are striking out at a 27.9% rate against right-handed pitching – the second-highest mark on tonight's slate. Meanwhile, Carrasco is having a splendid season with a 3.76 ERA and 1.28 WHIP thus far. Plus, the veteran right-hander has been good against the Braves this season, holding them to only three runs in 14 innings.

Luis Castillo OVER 7.0 Strikeouts

Castillo has been straight elite since his move to the West Coast. The Seattle Mariners' trade deadline acquisition has struck out at least seven in five straight starts, which includes the mighty Yankees twice as he's struck out 15 Bronx Bombers in 14.2 innings. Now, he gets to face the lowly Los Angeles Angels offense that has posted a 25.4% K rate vs. right-handers over the last 15 days – which is fourth-worst in baseball. With a 29% strikeout rate over his last five starts, Castillo is in a big time spot tonight.

Alejandro Kirk OVER 6.0 Fantasy Points

The Toronto Blue Jays have a smash matchup tonight against reverse-splits pitcher Kyle Bradish. All right-handed bats are in play since the Baltimore Orioles' rookie right-hander is allowing a .248 ISO and .423 wOBA along with a 51.3% hard-contact rate to righties. Kirk comes into tonight’s contest with a .366 wOBA and 44.6% hard contact rate on the split and is batting .300 on the season with 12 home runs and 41 RBI. He is starting to heat up again with a .320 average over the last week and is batting third tonight in the Blue Jays lineup.

Kyle Tucker OVER 1.5 Total Bases

A horrible month of July has already been forgotten by Houston Astros fans as Tucker has been raking since the calendar flipped to August. In 10 games this month, he is slashing .324/.395/.618 with seven runs, two doubles, a triple, two home runs, 11 RBI, and a steal. Plus, Tucker is scorching red-hot over the last week with seven hits in his last 16 at-bats and a .438/.471/.875 slash. Tonight, he faces veteran Johnny Cueto, who has a poor 4.80 xFIP and is not missing any bats with a 16.5% K rate.
