After sifting through the data and crunching those numbers, I have found my favorite MLB player props for the day over on Underdog Fantasy. Bobby Witt Jr. of the Kansas City Royals has been red-hot at the dish of late, while Pete Alonso of the New York Mets gets to face off against a southpaw. Lastly, we look at San Diego Padres free agent acquisition Xander Bogaerts at home against the Milwaukee Brewers. There could be some weather in play today, so don't forget to check out the latest MLB weather report and the confirmed MLB lineups when placing your MLB best bets of the day. Plus, the MLB daily projections and MLB Batter vs Pitcher page will help you find the best matchups for MLB player props and MLB DFS lineups

Bobby Witt Jr OVER 8.5 Fantasy Points

Witt has a .298 average and .344 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season, but more importantly, the young star is heating up. He has three straight games with three hits, and four straight multi-hit efforts. During this impressive four-game run, he’s hitting .579 with a .789 SLG, .285 wRC+ and despite not homering during this run, he has four runs scored, two doubles, one triple, two RBI, and three stolen bases. Atlanta’s Kyle Wright had some velocity concerns in the spring, and the velocity (and spin rates) were down in his first regular season start as well. After allowing a 1.65 WHIP in the spring, and a 2.67 WHIP in his first start of the year against Cincinnati, it’s hard not to like Witt Jr. today, especially seeing as it seems like he’s seeing a beach ball at the dish.

Pete Alonso OVER 9.5 Fantasy Points

Alonso against a lefty? Alonso against a lefty who has allowed a .704 SLG to right-handed hitters this season? Alonso against a lefty who has allowed a .446 SLG to right-handed hitters for his career? Alonso is hitting .409 with a 1.500 OPS against southpaws this season, and for his career as a whole, he has an .897 OPS and .303 ISO against southpaws. Alonso has hit safely in eight of his last nine games, and during this stretch, he’s hitting .353 with an .882 SLG, and 242 wRC+.

Xander Bogaerts OVER 0.5 Singles

If you like BvP data, Bogaerts is 5-for-15 with a .412 wOBA against Milwaukee’s Wade Miley for his career, so that’s encouraging. Bogaerts hasn’t been as prolific against lefties this season (.167/.222/.292) as he has for his career (.309/.388/.475), but that tide will turn sooner rather than later. What’s intriguing about Bogaerts today is that his home/road splits are quite drastic, and he loves hitting in his new home park. This year, he’s hitting .441 at home with a .527 wOBA and 237 wRC+. The former Boston shortstop is in the midst of a nine-game hit streak, where he is hitting .361 with a .398 wOBA, but only one of his hits have gone for extra bases during this stretch. He hasn’t made a ton of hard contact of late, but he’ll do enough against the soft-tossing Miley to record a single or two in this contest.
