Looking for the best Underdog Fantasy MLB picks today? Our Underdog MLB Pick'em predictions for Thursday, June 4, 2026, spotlight two MLB player props worth targeting on today’s action-packed MLB slate. Seth Lugo’s walks allowed and Christian Yelich’s total bases props both come with clear situational edges backed by current form, matchup data, and recent trends. If you are building your Underdog Pick'em entry for today’s MLB slate, here is the full case for where we land on both and why the MLB DFS projections set up the way they do.
What are the Best Underdog MLB Pick'em Picks Today?
Today’s two best Underdog Fantasy MLB Pick'em plays are Seth Lugo under 1.5 walks allowed and Christian Yelich over 1.5 total bases. Both props are supported by matchup data, current streaks, and favorable line construction heading into an action-packed day of baseball. Read below for the complete analysis on each.
Seth Lugo UNDER 1.5 Walks Allowed
If you look at Lugo’s game logs, you’ll notice that while he didn’t walk a batter in his last outing, he did walk at least two batters in all five starts prior to his most recent one. However, today’s matchup bodes well for Lugo limiting the free passes. When looking at his splits, he’s been really, really effective away from his home park. On the road this year, not only does he have a sub-3 ERA, but more importantly, a 3.3 percent walk rate! That’s phenomenal! He has had some issues with handing out free passes to lefties, but those struggles are mostly at home, whereas on the road against lefties in 2026, he has a 2.6 percent walk rate.
Minnesota isn’t taking a ton of walks of late (6.6% over the last two weeks), and they have the eighth-lowest walk rate on the year against RHP (8.4%). This Minnesota lineup is underwhelming, and I like Lugo’s outlook in this divisional matchup.
Christian Yelich OVER 1.5 Total Bases
Despite just a .125 ISO over his last eight games, I find myself quite bullish on Yelich this afternoon. Yes, he’s sporting a lower ISO, but he’s slashing .375/.459/.500 over his last eight games, while scoring nine runs and driving in seven. He’s been strong at home this season (.317 AVG, .839 OPS), and he has a respectable .341 wOBA against RHP this season.
He’ll take on Adrian Houser today, who is a right-hander with an ERA well north of five on the season, and he’s served up a .356 AVG, .637 SLG, and .462 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season. He’s one of the better pitchers to target on today’s slate, and we are going to do just that with Yelich.
