Gunnar Henderson MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

It’s a been a quiet last two nights for Henderson who had been working a seven-game hit streak in which he had four multi-hit games over the previous five, but with righthander Jake Irvin on the mound, we believe he’s ready to get back to work. Irvin has struggled with lefthanded hitters all season, allowing them a .359 wOBA against him as well as allowing seven of the 10 homers he’s given up to lefties. Henderson is batting .323 with a .413 wOBA against righthanded pitching and his HRR line is bumped up to 2.5. We’ll take a slightly safer play with no positive or negative multiplier here.   

 

 

James Wood MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI

This Nationals/Orioles game line has a total of 10 runs and with righthander Kyle Gibson on the bump for Baltimore, we’re expecting the Nationals bats to do some damage. We’ll roll with Wood who is the Nats’ best hitter against righties this season with a team-leading .394 wOBA which also comes with a .278 ISO. Meanwhile, Gibson is still finding his footing this season and is allowing lefthanded hitters to post a .653 wOBA against him. Yes, it’s a small sample size for the season but with a career mark off .342 wOBA for lefties against him, we’re very comfortable with Wood today.   

 

 

Emerson Hancock MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed

Hancock is coming off a game against the Yankees in which he gave up seven earned runs on eight hits and four walks. Three of those hits were home runs. Funny enough, his numbers have been worse at home than on the road, but still – a match-up against a Padres team that has a .330 wOBA against righthanded pitching and a .326 wOBA at home looks like trouble for me. There is both power and precision coming at him from both sides of the plate and I expect the Padres to bounce back from Friday’s quiet night at the plate and do some serious damage.
