Fantasy Baseball 2026 Two-Start Pitchers & Streaming Starters - 9/5

The season is now in the final weeks, and now more than ever, it is time to identify those Fantasy Baseball 2026 Two-Start Pitchers that can help propel your fantasy baseball squads onward to the trophy in your league(s). There are a goodly number of dual start SPs to plug in to your rotations who can aid in your quest for the championship when the 2026 season comes to a conclusion. There are also a number of hurlers you might want to avoid for one or both of their trips to the mound, as they are more likely to harm your fantasy team’s stat lines than provide much assistance in your goal to win it all.

Fortunately, there are also those arms you can pluck off the waiver wire to use for single streaming start. The second portion of this week’s report profiles those Fantasy Baseball 2026 Streaming Starters that could provide that push in terms of pitching prowess that your team needs to maintain or climb into prominence in your league.

Please realize that these articles feature the most recent rotation information available at the time they are written, but circumstances can change due to weather conditions, injuries, and general craziness with managers. If a pitcher listed here as having two starts ends up with one (or perhaps none) in the upcoming week, apologies, but this article is meant to provide analysis; it is up to the manager to set the lineups or rotations.

Without further ado, here are this week’s two start pitchers:

This group of aces are those SPs you want to plug into the lineup and let them work their magic for your team. If you were fortunate enough to either draft these pitchers, or perhaps pluck them off the wire during the season, now is the time to insert them into your lineups and reap the benefits.

Perez was roughed up seriously by the Washington hitters in his most recent trip to the hill, giving up five earned runs over just 3.0 IP. He only allowed two hits but one was a three-run dinger and the four free passes also figured into his early exit in Nationals Park. The good news for his Week 24 schedule is that he has two home contests on tap, and he has been significantly better when working with home cooking this season. He is currently at a career high 130.1 IP so there may be some concerns about fatigue setting in, which might lead to sitting him when the Dodgers come to town at the end of the scoring period. Although it is difficult not to start a SP that has collected seven quality starts (QS) over the course of his last 10 trips to toe the rubber.

Rogers is another pitcher who suffered a rough patch on the mound in his most recent appearance, but has been overall superb since the beginning of June, posting a stellar 2.57 ERA and 1.05 WHIP during those 84.0 IP, with a useful 76:18 K/BB ratio during that period. He has a couple of tougher matchups on the slate this week, facing a pair of strong SPs, one of whom is in the upper tier above (Dylan Cease) and the other who is profiled just below in this group, but his recent string of successful outings gives hope that he can provide his fantasy owners continued value. 

Chandler has yielded more than three earned tallies only once since the beginning of July, putting together some useful ratio work over those 46.1 IP: 3.30 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, while also compiling an 8.2 K/9 rate. He has two road contests on the schedule, both in the Windy City, first on the South Side, then winding up Week 24 at Wrigley Field, but his home/road splits indicate he is comfortable pitching at PNC Park or on a foreign mound.

Cantillo suffered some bad luck in his most recent time on the hill, giving up nine runs of which only four were of the earned variety. Allowing a three-run homer to Vladamir Guerrero certainly did not aid his efforts, but in the six previous games he toiled in, he collected a stellar 2.36 ERA and 9.3 K/9 rate. His shaky control has resulted in a bloated season-long WHIP of 1.48, but pitching on the road, as with the Pirate hurler profiled immediately above, his home/road splits cause no concern about the fact he is scheduled to pitch on the road for his next two contests. 

Vasquez since the beginning of August has compiled an attractive set of ratios: 2.76  ERA and 0.73 WHIP, to go with great control (1.4 BB/9 over those 32.2 IP). The downside is the 4.1 K/9 rate over that same run of innings, continuing his well below average rate of missing opponents’ bats this season (5.6 K/9 over his season-long 127.2 IP). He is facing his opponents this coming scoring period where they have had the most success at finding victories, so that is another potential negative in trusting him in this dual start week, along with the lack of Ks.

Sandoval has pitched well overall, and if his seven earned run outing in Pittsburgh mid-August is ingored, he has posted a useful 2.56 ERA over the other 31.2 IP he has accumulated over the other six contests he has appeared in since July 24^th. He is also striking out a batter per frame during his recent time on the mound, although admittedly his control needs work. He has two home games scheduled for Week 24, which plays into his strengths going by his home/road splits for the season.

Rodriquez would be difficult to recommend even with his two-start eligibility this week were he not pitching on the road in both scheduled contests, as he has definitely been more of a road warrior this season. Since the end of July, he has also notched up his K rate, striking out hitters at a 9.8 K/9 rate over those 38.2 IP; he also has a useful 3.49 ERA and 1.24 WHIP during that stretch of time on the hill.

As is always the case, these SPs are those it is suggested you allow to languish on the waiver wire or sit on your bench, lest they harm your ratios. Any counting stat values are generally going to be outweighed by the damage they can do to your pitching stats, so stay away. If you want a single start option, look down below for those Fantasy Baseball 2026 Streaming Starters that have more potential to deliver some fantasy goodness for your team(s).

Potential Streaming Options for Week 24

There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. Drew Anderson, Detroit Tigers vs. Minnesota Twins

Since joining the Detroit rotation, the converted reliever has been providing steady results, although he has five no-decisions and one loss to show for it on his record. He lasted 90 pitches against the host Twins in his most recent trip to the mound, and now appears to be full stretched out as a SP. He offers slightly below average K production (7.4 K/9 over his latest 28.0 IP) and his control is an issue, although it is mostly due to one shaky outing against the Dodgers where he handed out five free passes. He gets a home rematch against the team he faced most recently, playing to his home/road split strengths.

Grant Holmes, Atlanta Braves vs. Tampa Bay Rays

The veteran right-hander has been an effective hurler over the course of this season, allowing more than three earned runs only twice during his 26 trips to toe the rubber for the Braves. He has also been credited with five victories over his last 10 times on the hill, as opposed to just one loss. The Rays have a winning road record but have not been as dominant away from Tropicana Field this season, so this matchup has some streaming potential if you are so inclined.

Cal Quantrill, Texas Rangers @ Seattle Mariners

The veteran right-hander was tagged with a loss in Milwaukee in his last outing, but did qualify for a QS, going 6.0 IP and racking up an impressive eight Ks. He only allowed four hits, but two were round trippers. Since the end of July, he has been exceptional while on the hill, rolling up an excellent set of ratios, notably a 0.89 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP through those 30.1 IP. The 28:5 K/BB ratio has also proved to be useful for his fantasy owners, and with him being owned in less than 50% of leagues, this is a fine time to add him to your rotation(s) and reap some benefits.

Walker Buehler, San Diego Padres vs. Washington Nationals

Another veteran righty, he saw his streak of three consecutive QS end against the Rays at Tropicana Field. Still, it has been eight starts in a row where he has allowed three or fewer earned runs and he gets a home start in this matchup, although the opponent does have a near .500 road record; the Padres are excelling at Petco Park to offset that circumstance, though. His strikeout rate has been depressed of late but on the plus side, his control has been improving.

Erick Fedde, Chicago White Sox vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Be aware that the veteran righty may not be long for the Pale Hose rotation, with Davis Martin coming off the IL. He has been a shining star over the past few outings, posting a 1.32 ERA and 1.02 WHIP over 13.2 IP, and striking out 7.2 batters per nine frames during that stretch. Keep an eye to see if he is going to open the proceedings against the Pirates at home on Thursday, as he is the sole streaming option here if that is the situation.

Martin Perez, Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Over his six trips to the mound in August, the veteran southpaw has been exceptional, compiling a stellar 1.76 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over the course of those 30.2 IP. On a negative note, his strikeout production is pedestrian (6.8 K/9 over 121.0 IP) and his control needs some fine tuning, too (3.7 BB/9 through 26 appearances, 22 starts). Here he is at Truist Park, where he has been fantastic this season, making for a worthwhile streaming start.

Ryan Gusto, Miami Marlins vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

 The second year righty has pitched past the fifth inning just once in his last five appearances, offsetting his superb stat line: 1.99 ERA and 1.28 WHIP. Not being allowed to pitch deep enough into games to be credited with any victories limits his fantasy value, to be sure, but he can still offer fantasy owners some ratio help along with some K production, albeit below-average strikeout rates (7.6 K/9 on the season). Plus this game sees him on his home field mound, where he has been more successful over the span of 2026.

Mason Adams, Colorado Rockies @ Detroit Tigers

The book on the rookie righty is extremely limited, but he has been effective over his two road starts for the Rockies, and he gets another chance to shine away from Coors Field in this contest. He has notched five Ks in each of his two starts, and while the Tigers are not the most free swinging set of hitters around the MLB, they have been struggling to find a way to win in recent times.

Andrew Alvarez, Washington Nationals vs. Los Angeles Angels

The 27-year-old left-hander tossed his second QS of the season against the visiting Marlins, striking out six over his 6.0 IP. Over his last eight starts, his ratios are impressive: 2.81 RA and 1.15 WHIP over 41.2 IP. Looking at his peripheral metrics, nothing suggests that he cannot continue this level of performance on the hill, and he generates serious groundball action from opposing batters (50.4 GB% through 90.2 IP this season. Another plus in this matchup is that the Angels struggle mightily on the road.

Tyler Phillips, Miami Marlins vs Los Angeles Dodgers

The third-year right-hander has allowed more than two earned runs once during his most recent 10 game run, and has put up a useful 3.27 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over those 41.1 IP. He has also been missing plenty of bats during that period, with an 8.3 K/9 rate. This is obviously a tougher matchup but he does get to toe the rubber at LoanDepot Park in Miami where his team has been winning its share of contests at home. 

Tanner Gordon, Colorado Rockies @ Detroit Tigers

The 28-year-old right-hander was denied a potential win when a weather delay forced him from his latest outing. He had tossed 5.0 IP of three hit ball, allowing just one earned tally. He had been heading toward his second consecutive QS before the game was delayed, and his efforts away from Coors Field have been worthy of streaming usage when on the road, as he is in this contest. He offers slightly below-average strikeout production, but has demonstrated effective control which keeps him valuable as a SP when not pitching at his home park.
