MLB Weather Updates

Seattle Mariners vs New York Yankees

Going to start raining during the game.  May not get hard enough to cause a delay but it will be yet. Winds blowing in is a boost for the pitchers.

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

Guardians offense is starting to break out and they have Paul Blackburn on the mound against them today. We also have a clear value pitcher in  Gavin Williams which will make it easy to  spend up for top hitters on this slate.  Ohtani is on the mound for the Dodgers tonight with Luis Castillo facing the punch-less Yankees lineup. I'll likely plug Williams with one of the top starters and look to use Rangers,  Guardians and Red Sox as my top stacks.

Favorite Starters to Use for DFS Lineups

Luis Castillo, Seattle Mariners

As we've discussed a lot lately, the Yankees offense just isn't the same without Aaron Judge. Over the past two weeks they rank towards the bottom of the league in wOBA against righties and now face the “ACE” of the Mariners pitching staff in Luis Castilllo.

Garrett Whitlock, Boston Red Sox

Red Sox offense is starting to come alive and Whitlock has been really good over his last two starts, allowing just three runs over 13.1 innings while striking out 13. Boston is very high on Whitlock as a starter and his price tag in this matchup is far too low for what his upside has been of late.

Gavin Williams, Cleveland Guardians

The top pitching prospect in the Guardians rotation makes his debut here today in a great matchup against the Oakland Atheltics. At the minor league level this season he posted a 2.39 ERA with 81 strikeouts over 60.1 innings. I suspect he will be pretty popular this evening given the fanfare, price and matchup.

Recommended DFS Hitters

Highest Expected Run Totals

Favorite Hitters to Use for DFS Lineups

Austin Riley, Atlanta Braves

Though on the FanDuel Slate only, hard to ignore the BVP for Riley against Aaron Nola here tonight. The Braves third basemen is 20-for-48 with five doubles and five home runs off the Phillies starter.

Corey Seager, SS Texas Rangers

He's my favorite hitter on the slate, because we can't use Ohtani, and he is also the second highest priced hitter on the board. Seager has been unreal of late, hitting .415 with an OPS of 1.270 over the last 10 games.  He had five RBI last night against the White Sox and while Kopech has looked better of late but his Rangers offense is a different animal than the Mariners, Marlins and Tigers lineups he just recently pitched against.

Jose Ramirez, 3B Cleveland Guardians

Leading the charge for the Guardians recent offensive surge, Ramirez is hitting .400 with an OPS of 1.284 over the last 10 games with five home runs during this stretch. The Guardians are among the teams with the highest implied run total and seeing the value pitching on the slate should make it easy to get to Ramirez here tonight.

Jose Caballero, 2B Seattle Mariners

Good value play here tonight that might be flying under-the-radar. With J.P. Crawford out of the lineup we get Caballero in the leadoff spot and while he is much better against lefties this season, Brito, the Yankees starter, has really struggled against right-handed hitters. Caballero is also a legit stolen base threat and if he gets on first he should be looking to steal second.
