This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

There will also be a daily MLB DFS Show with a variety of hosts ranging from myself, Jon Impemba, Howard Bender, and James Grande. The MLB DFS Show will give you an initial outlook on the day's MLB DFS slate and should give you a good base for the start of your research each day!

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

We have an interesting main slate in terms of pitching today.  We have a good mix of pitchers in terms of success when it comes to pitcher vs hitter(s) matchups.

High-end options include Robbie Ray and Bryan Woo.  The mid-range includes Andrew Abbott, Chris Bassitt and Seth Lugo.  We also have a couple of paydown options with upside in Miles Mikolas and Lucas Giolito.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Andrew Abbott, Cincinnati Reds - DraftKings $9,200 | FanDuel $9,800

Abbott has looked like an ace in 2025. He enters Saturday with 1.79 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 72 Ks in 75.1 IP.

Abbott enters this matchup against the San Diego Padres with good history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the Padres during the 2024 season.  He put up 37 FanDuel points and 20.8 DraftKings points.  Look for Abbott to continue his dominant 2025 season against the Padres today.

Robbie Ray, San Francisco Giants - DraftKings $10,500 | FanDuel $10,600

Ray has slowed down in his 3 most recent starts. However, he draws an ideal matchup today.  He enters Saturday with 2.83 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 104 Ks in 92.1 IP.

Ray enters this matchup against the Chicago White Sox with good but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the White Sox during the 2024 season.  He put up 54 FanDuel points and 32.6 DraftKings points. Look for Ray to have a bounceback start on Saturday.

Bryan Woo, Seattle Mariners - DraftKings $10,200 | FanDuel $10,200

Woo is coming off back to back strong starts.  He enters Saturday with 3.12 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 87 Ks in 95.1 IP.  

Woo enters this matchup against the Texas Rangers with decent history against their hitters in the past.  He already has two starts against the Rangers in 2025.  He put up 53 and 49 FanDuel points and 33.7 and 27.5 DraftKings points in those starts.  He had one start against the Rangers during the 2024 season.  He put up 18 FanDuel points and 8.7 DraftKings points in those starts.  Look for Woo to continue his recent success against the Rangers on Saturday.

Miles Mikolas, St. Louis Cardinals - DraftKings $7,600 | FanDuel $7,400

Mikolas is my favorite paydown pitcher for Saturday’s slate.  He enters Saturday with 4.31 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 51 Ks in 77.1 IP.  

Mikolas enters this matchup against the Cleveland Guardians with decent history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the Guardians during the 2024 season.  He put up 37 FanDuel points and 21.1 DraftKings points.  Look for Mikolas to continue his success against the Guardians today.

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

It is an interesting slate for hitters today.  We have a good mix of history in terms of hitter vs pitcher matchups.  Feel free to mix and match your hitters across multiple lineups.

Milwaukee Brewers, Tampa Bay Rays, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals and Baltimore Orioles should be the front runners in terms of top teams to stack.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Yandy Diaz, Tampa Bay Rays - DraftKings $4,500 | FanDuel $3,100 

Diaz has been one of the best hitters in all of baseball over the past 3 weeks.  He has at least one hit in 16 of his last 17 games.  He has 12 multi hit games and 4 HRs during this stretch.

Diaz has good history in the past against expected Orioles starting pitcher Zach Eflin.  He is 3 for 9 with 1 HR against Eflin in his career.  Look for a strong performance out of Yandy Diaz and the Rays lineup on Saturday.

Brandon Lowe, Tampa Bay Rays - DraftKings $4,500 | FanDuel $3,200 

Lowe has been on fire as of late.  He is currently on a 14 game hitting streak.  He has 7 multi hit games and 4 HRs during this time span.  

He has fared well against Orioles expected starting pitcher Zach Eflin in the past.  He is 3 for 9 with 1 HR against Eflin in his career.  Lowe looks like a solid one-of play or key piece of a Tampa Bay Rays stack for Saturday’s slate.

Alejandro Kirk, Toronto Blue Jays - DraftKings $3,600 | FanDuel $2,900 

Kirk is having a strong bounce back season in 2025.  He has at least one hit in 6 of his last 7 games.  He has 3 multi hit games and 2 HRs during this stretch.

Kirk has good history in the past against expected Red Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito.  He is 5 for 14 with 4 HRs against Giolito in his career.  Kirk looks like a solid one-of play for today’s slate.

Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers - DraftKings $4,900 | FanDuel $3,400

Chourio looks like a solid value for today’s slate.  He has at least one hit in 13 of his last 16 games.  He has 4 multi games and 3 HRs during that time span.

Chourio is 2 for 3 with 1 HR against Antonio Senzatela, the expected starting pitcher for the Colorado Rockies.  Look for another strong performance out of Jackson Chourio and the Brewers lineup on Saturday.
