Elite Options

Julio Jones, ATL – Outstanding match-up with the Chargers who are allowing an average of 82.6 yards per game to the opposing WR1 while allowing an average of 280 yards per game through the air with 10 passing touchdowns on the season.

Odell Beckham, NYG – You’re not chasing last week’s stats when it’s an elite talent like this. Not to mention that while the Rams may not give up a ton of yardage, they’ve given up 11 touchdowns through the air this season.

A.J. Green, CIN – Seriously? It’s the Browns.

Allen Robinson, JAC – Matches up real well with the Raiders’ 28th ranked pass defense. They also rank just 26th against opposing WR1 and have allowed an average of 87.2 yards per game to them.

Jordy Nelson, GB – After last week’s debacle, Aaron Rodges is going to FEAST on the Bears secondary for Thursday’s prime-time game. Nelson will be the primary beneficiary as the Bears rank 20th against opposing WR1.

Mike Evans, TB – The ground game is still reliant on Jacquizz Rodgers which points towards Jameis Winston leaning heavily on his No. 1 option. The 49ers rank dead last against WR1 this season and are allowing an average of 85 yards per game.

Pricey But Affordable

Amari Cooper, OAK – I don’t love this play because the Jags don’t give up a ton of yardage. But it looks like Jalen Ramsey is going to split his work between him and Michael Crabtree which should afford some touchdown work for Cooper.

Brandin Cooks, NO – While the Chiefs pass defense may rank sixth in the league, they rank just 16th against opposing WR1 and are allowing almost 86 yards per game to the position. If Brees can shake the mental block of playing on the road, it could work very nicely.

Terrelle Pryor, CLE – The Browns really don’t have any other options and they get Pryor involved any way they can. Couple that with the Bengals having the 24th ranked pass defense and allowing 14 touchdowns through the air this season, Pryor makes for a nice play.

Alshon Jeffery, CHI – With Rodgers throwing all over the place, the Bears will have to reciprocate. The Packers are weak on the outside which means Jeffery should be able to hit pay-dirt this week somewhere among his seven or eight targets.

Solid Value

Mike Wallace, BAL – Despite the fact that Ryan Mallett may be under center instead of Flacco, the match-up for Wallace with the Jets is too hard to pass up, especially when Steve Smith might miss the game as well. Do I really have to cite numbers to tell you how bad the Jets secondary is?

Julian Edelman, NE – He’s due? How’s that for analysis? I’ll try going back to this well again, especially when the Steelers rank 27trh in the league against No. 1 wideouts.

Jeremy Maclin, KC – The Saints are downright awful with regard to pass defense and Maclin sees the majority of targets each week from Alex Smith. If New Orleans allows an average of 302 yards through the air, Maclin’s getting a bunch of work and should see some nice looks inside the red zone as well.

Golden Tate, DET – With Marvin Jones seeing the majority of Josh Norman, Tate will be able to run wild against a defense that ranks 32nd in the league against WR2. Not a lot of yardage but definitely a good number of touchdowns.

Tyrell Williams, SD – 10 of his 37 targets this year have come inside the red zone this season and Atlanta has allowed 14 touchdowns through the air this year.

Bargain Basement

Cameron Meredith, CHI – Again, the Packers are weak on the outside and Meredith has a strong bond with quarterback Brian Hoyer. Look for another double-digit target total this week.

Michael Floyd, ARI – Found the end zone last week and should be in line for another decent game while the Legion of Boom focuses on Larry Fitzgerald and John Brown. Not sure why Floyd is the forgotten man, but for this price, I’ll throw him into a GPP lineup.

Tavon Austin, LA – Traveling to England for this week’s game could take something out of the Giants defense which ranks 29th against WR2 and 22nd against slot receivers. Maybe a few gimmick plays to keep the Brits happy?

Torrey Smith, SF – Instant rewards last week if you listened to either me or Jeff Mans all last week. Colin Kaepernick likes chucking the ball downfield and that favors Smith over Jeremy Kerley. Look for him to expose that weak Tampa secondary.

Mohamed Sanu, ATL – Saw plenty of targets last week now that he’s healthy and Matt Ryan likes looking for him both on third downs and inside the end zone. The Chargers defense always crumbles in the second half, so look for his production to come late.

Digging Even Deeper

These are strictly deep, deep GPP plays.

Marquise Goodwin, BUF – With Robert Woods limited and the Miami secondary looking crazy vulnerable, Goodwin is likely to grab one of those random long touchdowns we’ve seen him post before.

Kendall Wright, TEN – Sort of chasing last week’s numbers, but the Colts pass defense blows and they rank just 16th against slot receivers.

Quinton Patton, SF – Just a hunch here, but again, Kaepernick likes to throw downfield and Tamps ranks just 24th in the league against WR2.

Chris Conley, KC – He’s 6-foot-3, 205 pounds and has five red zone targets this season. Maclin and Travis Kelce will see the majority of targets, but Conley could get a sneaky TD against the horror show that is the Saints defense.
