Friday's are by far my favorite day of the week in DFS and it has nothing to do with the work week being over or anything like that. There are always great contests across all three of the major sites and there is usually a full slate of games to select from as well. Tonight there are 14 games with only the Nationals/Cubs playing a matinee at Wrigley Field which we will ignore for our DFS Playbook purposes.
There are two games that need our attention for possible weather conditions. The first one is the Red Sox/Yankees game where there are early rain showers and a 40% chance of rain during the game. The other one is the A's/Orioles where is appears as though Baltimore will have rain throughout the day and a 60%+ chance at the scheduled time. I love the Yankees tonight and am going to begin the day under the idea that the game will be played. Baltimore however scares the hell out of me and I am pretty much fading that one unless we get some real good news closer to lineup lock.
The past few days have been terrible in terms of starting pitching selection. Well, now we have about a dozen viable names to choose from which really doesn't make things any easier. What I did to help narrow it down was take the top 16 pitchers and make a separate checklist that set markers for 15 categories covering everything from Vegas odds, opposing strikeout %'s to pitcher vs batter stat lines. The five names who filled up the most categoreis are the ones I am rolling with in the Playbook tonight.
Here is the DFS MLB Playbook for Friday May 6th:
