It's an exciting day here with the DFS Playbook as I have finally fully encorporated weighted bullpen projections into my model as of tonight's games. I've been using 11 stat category bullpen projections for most of this season but as of today we've upped that to include all batted ball and advanced metrics we need for DFS. In the past we have been only jumping on the outlier numbers for the terrible bullpens but now important factors such as rest/usage rates are being automatically included in both our hitter and pitcher models. OK...so this isn't exciting to you but I promise that with this inclusion your boys here at Fantasy Alarm are commiting to staying on top of the latest trends and data in order to help our users stay cashin'.
For the first time in over a week we actually have all 30 MLB teams in action tonight on one single slate. These are my favorite evenings because it greatly favors those of us who do all of the research every single day. When you have this many games , the ownership spreads out considerably and it allows us to pick up on more under the radar players, teams and stacks for us to build tournament lineups around. The starting pitchers tonight are pretty academic. We have Jake Arrieta with a great park shift against a non-threatening Giants team who we will build cash game lineups around. After Arrieta it all comes down to which mid range arms that we like the most. For those of that are Playbook PRO subscribers, you are going to be quite surprised with who my second GPP starter is going to be tonight.
The only game that I am worried about tonight is the Seattle/Cincinnat game that has an 80% of rain throughout the ballgame. Rain is supposed to be in the area all day and thus we could see an early cancellation of this game around 5 PM ET.
