This playbook encompasses the entire slate for Thursday. There are a few extra players listed to make sure enough players are provided for both slates. As always with possible weather issues and guys not in lineups, it is always helpful to check the rankings for the next man up. Also for the Playbook PRO customers, please be sure to check out the Pitching Coach and Hitting Coach as well if you are looking for additional plays.
Pitching for the day is very interesting. Jose Fernandez will go in the afternoon and will be heavily owned in most formats. The 2nd pitcher on two pitcher sites can be a bit tricky for the day slate. There is not real comfortable second choice. In the evening slate, we will have to see if the pathetic San Diego Padres can find a way to score a run. Kenta Maeda should find himself in a great spot making his major league debut. It will be interesting to see what happens with Stephen Strasburg as he is the most talented pitcher in the night slate but he is expensive and has struggled a bit in Atlanta.
The catching position is a trainwreck with a bunch of garbage choices. We will have to deal with some real garbage in the day slate depending on who is sitting. Catchers don't catch very often in the day after a night game so be sure to track the lineups as they are published. While catcher sucks, the third base position is absolutely loaded with high quality choices in the afternoon games.
I will be posting lineups for the early and slate lates so be sure to check those out for lineup ideas. I will try to add and subtract from the playbook as the day unfolds as well.
