No time to waste as the early games are almost underway. Let’s just get right to it (still using 2015 for sample size).

Investing Heavily

Jose Fernandez, MIA  -- Everyone wants to go Thor, but with the way Barry has the Fish swinging the bats, I’ll take Fernandez with his strikeout potential against a Mets club that has a .240 wOBA against right-handers with a 24.6-percent strikeout rate.

Corey Kluber, CLE – The Rays are fanning almost 26-percent of the time against righties and have a sub-.300 wOBA. That curve ball is going to give them fits all game.

Moderately Priced

Gio Gonzalez, WAS – All about the match-up here as the Braves look terrible offensively and are sitting on a .190 wOBA and 24.1-percent strikeout rate against southpaws this year.

Mike Fiers, HOU – The Royals still haven’t found their groove yet which means we could get away with using Fiers and his 8.98 K/9. The defending world champs are striking out 21-percent of the tiem against righties and have just a .630 OPS against them.

Derek Holland, TEX – He’s got good enough stuff and the veteran savvy to deal with a Mariners club that has some stars but is definitely beatable. If Holland can get them to fish a little, that 20-percent K-rate should rear its ugly head, but also the .286 wOBA against lefties isn’t strong at all. Get through Cano and Cruz right now and the rest is cream cheese.

Middle Class

Patrick Corbin, ARI – The Dodgers’ 23.1-percent strikeout rate comes into play here, as does their feeble .085 ISO and .287 wOBA. The pitcher-friendly environment should certainly help.

Bargain Basement

Robbie Erlin, SD – A low-cost GPP dart facing a team striking out 40.5 percent of the trime and posting just a .208 wOBA? Come on. Definitely worth a $2 ride on any site that lets you.

Kendall Graveman, OAK – Here’s a low-end dart which should be decent against a still-struggling Angels offense. He won’t dazzle you with strikeouts, but with their .087 ISO and .259 wOBA against right-handers, the Angels may struggle again.
