On the road this season, Lugo has a sub-3 ERA and a minuscule 3.3 percent walk rate! For a frame of reference, his walk rate at home is 10.8 percent! Away from home, he’s been very, very strong, and despite a near double-digit walk rate against lefties for the year, when pitching on the road and facing lefties, that walk rate is just 2.6%

Over the last two weeks, the Twins have had the fourth-lowest walk rate in baseball at 6.6 percent. Furthermore, for the year against righties, they sport the eighth-lowest walk rate at 8.4 percent.

This is an uninspiring Twins offense, and the numbers point to Lugo limiting the free passes this evening.
