Cincinnati Reds vs. St. Louis Cardinals Predictions: Saturday, June 6th
The NL Central matchup between the Cardinals and Reds continues this afternoon after a 10-3 win for the Cardinals last night. Today could feature much of the same in terms of offense given the pitchers on the mound. It's Nick Lodolo vs Matthew Liberatore facing off against two offenses that can slug, let's dive into things.
We start first with Nick Lodolo, who made his season debut in early May and has since yet to find his footing. He has a 5.20 ERA over five starts and he has given up 25 hits over 27.2 innings pitched. The strikeouts have been lacking a bit as well with just 22 during that span and he's given up an OPS of .908 on the season. That makes me look at a player like JJ Wetherholt who has hit .438 over the past four games and will be the leadoff man for St. Louis today. His hits/runs/RBIs prop is the play given how often he's on base and the amount of slugging going on behind him in the order. On top of that prop, I like the over on the game total overall this afternoon as well. Liberatore has had some serious issues against both sides of the plate allowing a .290 opponent batting average on the season. This Reds' offense can take advantage of that with how JJ Bleday and Spencer Steer have been playing of late. Give me the over on nine runs for this afternoon.
- Expert MLB Picks
- JJ Wetherholt (STL) Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-150 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
- Reds & Cardinals Over 9 Runs (-110 on BetMGM Sportsbook)
San Francisco Giants vs. Chicago Cubs Predictions: Saturday, June 6th
After the thumping that was yesterday's 18-3 Giants win, its a good thing for the Cubs that you play a game every day and need to move on quickly. In fact, I think that's just what they'll do today going against starter Landen Roupp. Roupp has struggled dating back to early May and over his last six starts, he's given up 39 hits over 28.2 innings pitchers and 20 earned runs. This gives the Cubs lineup a big time opportunity and I believe players like Pete Crow-Armstrong will take full advantage. PCA will hit lead off today for the Cubs and over his past six games, he's hitting .458 with a 1.394 OPS, scalding hot is an understatement. Seems to me taking his over on hits/runs/RBIs today seems like a no brainer.
In addition to the PCA prop, I like the Cubs to win this game this afternoon. Roupp has struggled for the Giants and Chicago is sending out Ben Brown. Brown is a reliever turned starter of late and over his five starts that have gone at least four innings, he's looked the part. 15 hits, five earned runs and 30 strikeouts are his numbers over his last 26 innings pitched. He should be a good spot here today at home and lead the Cubs to a much needed victory after yesterday's events.
