Angels vs. Mariners Predictions: Monday, June 29th

A Monday in MLB means the start of a new series slate for all the teams playing today and my attention is fixed on this AL West showdown for today. Ryan Johnson and his massive ERA of 8.84 visits the Mariners today and that's where I'll kick off today's best bets. 

Johnson has really struggled in his six starts this season and while that's a small sample size its enough to pick up some trends. On the road this season he is allowing a batting average of .385 and against the right side of the plate specifically is where most of the damage is coming from. His 38 at bats right handed bats are hitting .342 with a .977 OPS which includes three home runs. That puts Julio Rodriguez in play for a wager today as he's hitting .320 over the past six games and nine of his 14 home runs this season have come at home, so let's take him to go over his hits/runs/RBIs prop here tonight. 

In addition to that prop I also like the over in tonight's game as George Kirby will pitch on the Mariners side. He has over course been better than Johnson on the Angels side but his ERA in June is 4.5 and batters are hitting .344 against him as well in the month. The total is 7.5 runs, doesn't seem like enough for the lack of pitching we may see today.
