Diamondbacks vs. Cardinals Predictions: Thursday, July 23rd

In a light slate like today it can be harder to find betting angles but I really like a wager in this game today between the Diamondbacks and Cardinals. Its a makeup game from earlier in the week and it will pit Brandon Pfaadt against Michael McGreevy, both of whom have had a great July.

In three starts this month Pfaadt has pitched as good as he ever has with a 2.3 ERA and allowing no walks over 15.2 innings pitched. The strikeouts are lacking a bit with just 11 during that span but that's okay as the Cardinals aren't doing much even with the ball in play. In the month of July over the course of 19 games the Cardinals have the 3rd worst isolated power mark in baseball at .128 and their team BABIP is .256! This has of course led to struggles scoring runs consistently.

On the Cardinals side of the mound Michael McGreevy is still pitching his tail off into the dog days of summer. In his three starts this month he has a 1.93 ERA and has given up just 14 hits over 18.2 innings pitched. The Diamondbacks on the road this season haven't put up a big fight either with 4.29 per game, the 9th least in MLB on the season.

This game seems like a stone cold under wager and I am going to go ahead and lay my money down on it.
