MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 8/28 Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction: Friday, August 28th

Its a big series kicking off this weekend between a pair of Wild Card hopefuls in the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays. Both teams check in with mediocre form and the offenses have been stuck in the mud the last couple of weeks but they will have aces on the mound tonight!

Starting with the Blue Jays their man Dylan Cease with toe the rubber tonight and he's been rolling in the month of August. In his last 25 innings pitched the right hander has given up just six earned runs and 11 total hits while collecting 35 strikeouts. That pack of stats leads us to the opening wager of the day here in the article and its on Dylan Cease to go over his strikeout prop. Over the past two weeks the Mariners have a team K-rate of 25.6% which is third overall in MLB behind just the Yankees and Pirates. On top of that Cease, among pitchers that have thrown at least 125 innings this season, is second in Whiff % at a whopping 34.8%! 

The other wager to make on this game is taking the under on the game total. The Blue Jays and Mariners just aren't hitting well overall with both having isolated power marks outside the top half of the league over the past two weeks. Emerson Hancock will help keep things low in addition to Cease as Hancock has not allowed more than three earned runs in nine consecutive starts. 7.5 is a low number but its justified and I am fading the number big time.
