Pitchers Most Vulnerable to Stolen Bases Today

When hunting for successful MLB stolen base picks today, targeting the right pitcher is half the battle. The following list is made up of the day’s starting pitchers who have allowed the most stolen bases this season.

Catchers Allowing the Most Stolen Bases

The final piece of the puzzle for finding the best stolen base predictions involves looking behind the dish at catcher pop times and throwing accuracy. How many times teams attempt to steal a base on a particular catcher is a strong indicator of who we expect to see doing the most running today. Best MLB Stolen Base Picks Today:

Locking in the best stolen base predictions means finding the absolute perfect storm of a high-on-base runner and a weak battery. We’ve got an interesting group of notable base-stealers at shorter odds, so here are our top two MLB stolen base picks today for Monday, August 24:

Favorite Bets:

Jorge Mateo, Tampa Bay Rays (+272) – Mateo has now been with the Rays for about a week and seems to be playing regularly with Ben Williamson out. This is a tough matchup as Chase Burns is an elite-level starter, but he’s still given up 21 stolen bases this year, and Mateo is still proving himself to the East Coast.  Couple that with the Reds catchers posting a 16.8-percent caught-stealing rate, and we’ve got some serious stolen base potential.

Henry Bolte, Athletics (+544) – Bolte has been playing regularly in recent weeks, and while he hasn’t swiped a bag since August 12, we’re in on him with this matchup. No, righty Zebby Matthews hasn’t allowed a ton of stolen bases, but Bolte has a .353 OBP against righties, and Victor Caratini is one of the absolute worst at throwing out our baserunners. Just a 13-percent caught-stealing rate off 45 attempts? Let’s get it.
