Esteury Ruiz, Miami Marlins (+282) – While the strikeout rate always makes me a little nervous, I don’t mind investing in the speedy Ruiz today, going up against right-hander Carmen Mlodzinski and the Pirates bullpen. Ruiz has all the tools to zip around the bases with ease, and he’s got an outstanding .392 OBP (.372 wOBA) against righties this season. Lefties do fare a little better against Mlodzinski, but he’s had some struggles this season, and we don’t even expect him to go more than three or four innings here. Ruiz will get his shot, and we should cash once he does. 

Bobby Witt, Kansas City Royals (+288) – He was our free newsletter pick yesterday, and while he didn’t steal a base, Witt continued to produce with two hits. That gives him 10 hits over the eight games he’s been back from the IL, and he’s got two steals and one caught-stealing in that span, so he’s running, business as usual. Facing southpaw Eric Lauer, I fully expect Witt’s talents and .368 wOBA against southpaws to shine through.
