Michael Busch (+377)

We’re kicking off our best MLB home run picks for today with the classic Windy City. The winds have shifted at Wrigley Field in a massive way - over 20 mph OUT! That’s an incredible benefit for dingers, as is Merrill Kelly on the bump for the Arizona Diamondbacks. So, our top MLB home run picks start with the Chicago Cubs.

We’ve picked on Kelly for YRFI picks given his struggles to start his campaign, and until we see significant improvements, we’re going to continue to do so. The DBacks have lost his last two starts 13-2 and 11-5 with Kelly himself allowing 13 runs and four homers. We’ve got another one coming from the Cubs lefty first baseman today.

We’re going to stick with that matchup at Wrigley; with such great conditions, why not? This time, we’ve got more of a recognizable name for fans, even if he is still a younger player. That means that the matchup is with Matthew Boyd - a lefty. We’ll admit that he certainly has the ability to ring of K’s, but he’s been inconsistent this year. Perhaps more importantly, the DBacks second baseman has been mashing lefties this season to the tune of a .452 average and .762 slugging percentage.
