Top Tier
Lance Lynn, CHI - While paying up for Max Scherzer is always appealing, we have Lynn here tonight in a good spot against a high strikeout team in the Tigers. Lynn has faced the Tigers once already this season and tossed six innings of one run baseball while striking out six. White Sox are favorites tonight even with the Tigers top starter on the mound opposite them.
Max Scherzer, WAS - It's definitely a tough spot against the Dodgers but Scherzer has been nails of late, posting a 1.70 ERA over his last 10 starts with 81 strikeouts over 58.1 innings. He faced the Dodgers already this season and allowed one run over six innings.
Mid Tier
Adrian Houser , MIL - Brewers are Vegas favorites tonight and while Houser has had some so-so outings of late, I still think this is a decent spot for him against the Pirates despite his pitching performances against them this season. Better for cash than GPP.
Alex Wood, SF - Wood has come back to earth a bit of late with an ERA near 5.00 over his last 10 starts but this is a great matchup for him to get back on track. He recently faced the DBacks and held them to two runs over six innings while striking out 7.
Value Tier
Eduardo Rodriguez, BOS - The numbers on the surface do not look great for ERod but look deeper and the sabermetric numbers show a different pitcher and a reason to be optimistic. The A's rank 28th in average and 29th in wOBA against left-handed pitching over the last two weeks.
Drew Smyly, ATL - Smyly has really started to come around and this is a great spot for him as he is home against the Marlins. Miami has the third highest strikeout rate against LHP at 27.5%. We saw this matchup a few starts ago and he allowed just two runs over five innings while striking out six.
