Top Tier
Trea Turner, SS WAS
Even after going 0-for-5 on Tuesday, Turner is still hitting .366 with a 1.215 OPS over his last 10 games. Over the last month overall, he’s slashed .326/.390/.568 while belting five homers and swiping five bags. Chris Paddack, his opponent tonight, struggles with same-handed hitters as righties are batting .283 with an .840 OPS and .358 wOBA. Turner’s casual .300 AVG against righty hurlers isn’t too shabby either.
Manny Machado, 3B SD
Talk about waking the hell up! Machado is heating up as the weather does, notching a .333 AVG along with a 1.147 OPS over his last 10 games. In fact, it’s been a great 30 day span for the All-star third baseman. Over that span, he’s slashed .344/.404/.667 with eight homers and 25 RBI. He has a career .849 OPS against left-handed pitching and his match-up with Patrick Corbin is a doozy. Corbin has been shelled by right-handed hitters all season long, allowing an .860 OPS and .368 wOBA.
Mid Tier
George Springer, OF TOR
The Blue Jays draw a match-up against Matt Harvey tonight and Harvey has, well, been bad for some time now. Harvey has a 7.34 ERA this season and right-handed hitters have crushed him. Righties are batting .348 with a .960 OPS and .408 wOBA against him this season. Springer has loved facing right-handed hurlers thus far in 2021 belting four homers in 35 at-bats along with a .423 wOBA.
Bryce Harper, OF PHI
The Phillies offense as a whole is really heating up all at the same time, including Harper who’s coming off a five-hit, four-RBI game including depositing a three-run bomb. Harper’s now belted five bombs over his last 10 games and Alec Mills really struggled with left-handed hitters. Mills has allowed LHH to bat .310 with an .850 OPS and .378 wOBA as well. Harper is dialed in and loooooves his righty hurlers, batting .293 with a wOBA up over .400. One of the better price tags you’re going to see Harper at.
Value Tier
Lamonte Wade Jr., 1B/OF SFG
Giants lefties are really, really sneaky here. It’s really hard to trust batters in Oracle park, but the Giants offense has been great so I’m OK being contrarian here. Johan Oviedo stinks against left-handed hitters, allowing a .297 AVG, .850 OPS and .370 wOBA too. Wade has a .290 AVG, seven homers and a .391 wOBA against right-handed pitching. He projects as the teams leadoff hitter here and he’s only 3.4K on DraftKings.
Cedric Mullins, OF BAL
Just because I’m Cedric Mullins’ number one fan doesn’t mean he should be priced at 3.5K on DraftKings. Just because he’s facing a left-handed pitcher, doesn’t mean we should fade him either. That’s what I said yesterday in the playbook and he took Steven Matz deep. He is hitting .305 with a .379 wOBA vs. LHP this year and Ryu is struggling coming into this start, pitching to a 6.75 ERA over his last two starts. Mullins has been dominant in Baltimore, batting .333 with 11 HR and a .444 wOBA.
