On a limited slate, pay close attention to lineups and weather. With the trade deadline less than 24 hours away at lineup lock, things could change based on rumors or players getting pulled before or during a contest. Only one player recommended below comes with trade risk, so tread lightly and monitor who is starting along with who does not appear in batting orders tonight. As always, best of luck in your builds and smaller slates favor cash games.

Top Tier

Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Angels - 1B/OF ($6,200 on DraftKings), OF ($4,500 on FanDuel)

Remember when participating in the Home Run Derby caused his slump? Luckily Ohtani's a goldfish with a short memory (for Ted Lasso fans) launching home runs in back-to-back games ahead of tonight's match-up and three in his last four games. Over his last 26 plate appearances he's slashing a robust .364/.462/.864 with six runs, three home runs, seven RBI and two stolen bases. He's produced a major league leading 59 barrels this year and 127 hard hit events (exit velocity of 95 MPH-plus) and owns six hits in 16 past at-bats facing Frankie Montas with, you guessed it, two home runs among them.

Fernando Tatis Jr., San Diego - SS ($5,900 on DraftKings, $4,600 on FanDuel)

This may be a perfect night to run a stars and scrubs build, so getting Tatis Jr. at home against a southpaw seems enticing. He boasts an eye popping .333 isolated power versus left-handed pitching this year with a .921 OPS plus six doubles and six home runs among his 18 hits in 72 at-bats. This averages out to a home run every 12 at-bats and an extra-base hit every six, that's good right? As a sweetener, he's 5-for-15 in previous match-ups facing Kyle Freeland with two doubles, a home run and a 98.3 MPH average exit velocity on his batted ball events.

Mid Tier

Jonathan Schoop, Detroit - 1B/2B ($4,900 on DraftKings, $3,500 on FanDuel)

Not for the risk averse since he missed yesterday's high scoring affair due to a tight back and he's also on the trade block. However, if he's in the lineup, Schoop owns a .324/.368/.565 slash facing left-handed pitching this year with seven home runs in 117 plate appearances. His .241 isolated power and .932 lead the Tigers against them and getting a rookie southpaw on the mound along with a bullpen which gives up runs equals a tasty match-up for the veteran slugger.

Teoscar Hernández, Toronto - OF ($5,1000 on DraftKings, $3,500 on FanDuel)

Prefer his price point on FanDuel better than DraftKings, but Hernandez could pop tonight in Fenway. Although he's not hitting for average recently, he's launched two home runs while generating four barrels within his last 13 batted ball events (30.8 percent) and seven hard hits (53.8 percent). On a humid evening and with past success versus tonight's starter, Eduardo Rodríguez, Teoscar could tee off with seven hits in 17 past at-bats with a double and three home runs fueling a 99.7 MPH average exit velocity in them. Giddy up.

Bargain Bats

Robbie Grossman, Detroit - OF ($3,200 on DraftKings, $3,100 on FanDuel)

Yes, he struggled last time he appeared in this column by yours truly (always be accountable), but doubling down based on the match-up. Grossman's logged 129 plate appearances against southpaws this season with four doubles, two triples and five home runs driving in 20 runs along with drawing 20 walks. Sounds like a nice floor at a reduced price. His .374 wOBA and .219 isolated power may come in handy in a contest with a double digit run total.

Rowdy Tellez, Milwaukee - 1B ($2,600 on DraftKings, $2,200 on FanDuel)

Maybe my favorite play tonight, he's been on fire but the pricing algorithms do not seem to care. He's launched three home runs in his last five games with eight RBI and a .474/.545/1.000 slash line for the Brewers. Even more impressive, he's walked (three times) more than he's struck out (once) in this hot streak and gets Chad Kuhl on the mound tonight looking to secure his playing time against right-handed pitching. Time to get Rowdy.
