Short overview today because I am packing to come home from Europe! The LCS was a little unexpected on Saturday with Team Liquid dropping their match to TSM but we got to see some regularity with Cloud9 coming back into form. North America will have limited spots for the World Championship (3 in total) and North America has four legitimate contenders. This slate has two of those teams, Cloud9 and 100 Thieves, squaring off. Let’s dove in to today's League of Legends DFS slate!

League of Legends Fantasy Value Breakdown

Game #1: Golden Guardians v Team Solomid

Game Breakdown: Team Solomid are coming off a strong win against Team Liquid on Saturday. The team played well as a team and were led by their cornerstone player, Spica. Spica was able to influence lanes and most importantly, Tactical. The young North American talent has shown he has great instincts and can play around team support well. Golden Guardians continue to struggle both in lane and as a team in the late game. Watch out for TSM’s Tactical if he falls too far behind, but you should feel relatively comfortable with this pick for today.

Favorite Picks: Stixxay (GG: $7,000)

Value Picks: Spica (TSM: $6,200), Maple (TSM: $6,200), Mia (TSM: $5,200)

Cann’s Match Pick: Team Solomid

Game #2: Team Liquid v FlyQuest

Game Breakdown: I love picking great teams after terrible losses. This is exactly what Team Liquid had and I expect a much cleaner early game from them on Sunday. Bwipo played a sub-optimal pick in the top lane which made him irrelevant in teamfights, I don’t expect them to draft like that again. FlyQuest will look to force-feed their bottom lane (Johnsun and Aphromoo) to be their late-game win condition but they will need Hans sama and CoreJJ to play at a lesser level once again.

Favorite Picks: Bjergsen (TL: $11,400/$7,600), Bwipo (TL: $6,800)

Value Picks: Johnsun (FLY: $6,200), Aphromoo (FLY: $4,200)

Cann’s Match Pick: Team Liquid

Game #3: Cloud9 v 100 Thieves

Game Breakdown: This is a realistic finals preview. With the reintroduction of Berserker and addition of Zven as support, Cloud9 may have all the pieces they need to be successful now. Zven will provide in-game leadership that this team seemingly has lacked and C9 can look at their bottom lane as a win condition again. 100 Thieves should look to get Ssumday advantages, as Fudge has had games where he has been exposed when camped. This should be a pretty close match, but the price value of Cloud9 is too good here.

Favorite Picks: FBI (100: $7,600), huhi (100: $6,000)

Value Picks: Berserker (C9: $9,900/$6,400), Blaber (C9: $6,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Cloud9

Game #4: Counter Logic Gaming v Evil Geniuses

Game Breakdown: Evil Geniuses have too high of a skill gap to lose this match. Now there is always a chance that they lose, but each position has a player that outclasses anything CLG has. CLG’s strategy (playing off-meta picks and being aggressive) was something coined by Evil Geniuses and noone does it better than them. I love Inspired as the glue that holds this team together, another major piece to this puzzle for EG. Palafox could see some success against his lane opponent (jojopyun), especially when you look at the experience gap but I am not sure if it will be worth the risk of picking.

Favorite Picks: Danny (EG: $12,000/$8,000), Impact (EG: $7,000), Inspired (EG: $7,400)

Value Picks: Palafox (CLG: $5,800), Poome (CLG: $4,400)

Cann’s Match Pick: Evil Geniuses

Game #5: Immortals v Dignitas

Game Breakdown: This game will be downright ugly to watch. Neither team does a great job working the map and many times they are over reactionary. I picked Immortals here because I like the pedigree they have with their mid laner (PowerOfEvil) and ADC (Lost). Both damage dealers have experience and production in carrying their team and it is a decent core to build around. I think that River, DIG jungler, has such a high ceiling but in his role he depends on teammates to help him produce.

Favorite Picks: River (DIG: $6,600), BioFrost (DIG: $5,800)

Value Picks: Revenge (IMT: $5,800), PowerOfEvil (IMT: $6,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: Immortals
